Caps Equipment Sale - June 16th 1.30-4pm

The Washington Capitals annual equipment sale will be held at Kettler Capitals Iceplex on Saturday, June 16. The sale will be open to the public from 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and will be held on the second floor Mezzanine Level of KCI. Merchandise available for purchase includes new and used equipment, apparel and player name plates from the Verizon Center locker room.

The sale will also feature an “Enter to Win” drawing for the opportunity to purchase one of the pieces of equipment used by Alex Ovechkin. The drawing will be open to everyone who attends the equipment sale with the winners being given the opportunity to secure one of the limited number of Alex Ovechkin items that will be available. Attendees will be able to complete one entry form each and the winners will be contacted the week of June 19th.

1:30 is kinda late. I hope all the "VIPs" don't take all the good stuff. I would imagine that pretty much everything would be for sale though, maybe excluding skates, considering they are getting new jerseys. I'll be happy with some gloves and maybe a stick. Thanks for posting this Allsmoke! :D

Not sure if that is tongue in cheek, but just so you know, season ticket holders were emailed info on how to get tickets to get in before the general public, so it may be slim pickens for some

Meh.. More wishfull thinking than anything. I'm going to see if I can find a way to get in earlier. I'd much rather get somthing from this years sale than next years because of the change in jerseys, and I wouldn't have to wait a year.

I think the logic is that the Ovey stuff will go fast and early, so they will have a full set of gear held back, and if your number is called, you can choose what you want.

But yeah, like a lot of the caps recent marketing stuff, it sucks.

Like their draft day party, you have to sign up for tickets, max 4 tickets per person, they are free, so people sign up for them thinking they will use them, but if not, then its 4 more people who would have went that can't now.

Stupid stupid stupid, and the first year they have had ticket limit, it's not like its a huge draw

i hate this ticket shit. i cant even get into the draft party and i go to that rink everyday. were can you get tickets? my dads friend has the season ticket accout so i dont know what to do.

I have no problem with that premise. Just give the the freaking gear away to the winners though. It's not like the extra grand they take in is going to make the team significantly more profitable.

You can't, and thats the shitty thing, there will be people who have booked tickets, just in case, and won't use them, leaving others out in the cold

Sorry to bump this, but thought I would let people know.

Season ticket holders are getting access to look over the gear first, and get what they want.

They have been alloted time slots starting as early as 9am on the morning of the 16th.

At this point, I am debating whether to go at all or not, because they are doing groups hourly, 9 through 1, so if there are 5 groups of people who have already had their pick of the stuff before it's opened to the public, I don't see it being worth my while to line up for a left over matt pettinger jock.
