Favourite t'blade runner...

Recommended Posts

I just wanted to see what different runners t'blade users are using and what they like about them.

I currently am using 256-M-13 but what to try a longer runner. Just can't find any in 256.

haha what a coincidence, I use a M-13-256 runner too, but I just ordered a S-13-156 runner like five minutes ago from monkey lets see how they work out...

272-S-13, I was with the M for awhile, but I was struggling skating backwards with them for some reason. Switched to the short, and it took a little of my speed away, because of the lack of blade contact. Now it feels like turning and pivoting is a lot quicker and smoother.

Where the heck you been Crazy? You turnin gay on me Boy?!

M-13-288...Tried 15 and even got my hands on an 18, but they were just not my cup o' tea. Went back to the 13 and am never looking back. Maybe I'll try the S and the L, but we're about to take our ice out, so I'll probably just wait till next season.

BTW, Crazy, if you've got time on Monday mornin (18th), feel free to drop in the rink and give the guys a hand, I'm sure they might even let ya drive the O a round or two. I'll be at MIS that weekend, and won't get back till Monday Afternoon.

Interesting. I'm having similar issues too. I wanted to try L for more glide but by the sounds of if may worsen the problem.

264-L-15

Tried the 18, was a bit much.

Probably pick up a 13 or less as one rink I now play on has really soft ice.

I had 288 - M - 13s for over a year. I needed new blades and they only had 288 -

M 15s. After 3 skates I did notice a difference in my transitions. I like the duller blades (less hollow) more. Just my big-footed experience. :D

Have used M-15 256 (after using M-13 256). Found them alot more comfortable on soft ice, felt I had better glide and turning capabilitys. For harder ice I used an L-18 256, found more stability but surprisingly no noticable difference in manoverability. (Did have a 2.5mm heel lift on skate as well)

Have since switched to a Pitch Blade wth an 11" radius and 3/4lie with a 5/8"hollow

(feels much like the M-15)

No more heel lift needed with the Pitch I found.

I thought for harder ice you'd go the other way around. Harder ice more edge. I guess my interpretation is wrong.

n/m I re-read what you said. I'd like to try a m-15 but there's no decent selection here in Edmonton. Online is a expensive to purchase and ship to canada.

checked out proskate, source for sports and don't have anything in L or 15 or higher. Only 9-13 in M or S. United Cycle & klondike I think are the only places I haven't checked.
