Old KOHO Stick Patterns?

Recommended Posts

A few years ago I found some sticks in the basement my dad used probably in the 80s. Anyway, I loved the pattern. Long story short my mom went on a cleaning rampage and they are now all gone. I finally have the money and would like to get some blades made by I no longer have a sample to send TPS or sherwood. I remember the pattern no. and player does anyone know if KOHO keeps any records of their patterns and if so who to contact? I know its a long shot but figure its worth a shot.

Thanks.

Unfortunatley it was an old Red Wing no namer Al McDonough. The number on the butt end of the stick was 266, which i beleive was a pattern number. Thanks though.

And as i just looked that up i realized the sticks were later 70's or early 80's so they're pretty damn old.

sort of off topic, but i used to love the Koho Alfredsson pattern that was out in the mid-late 90s. wish i knew what it looked like. was too young to really care about details.

Sundin: Pretty much like his pro pattern. RPish but with more curve on the heel, though not very wedgy.

Andreychuk: Nice mid-heel, kind of like a Modano on meth. Sloping heel, not much loft.

Kurri: Basically a longer Modano.

Stevens: Glorious heel wedge. Kind of like the old Easton Thornton/Ciccarelli but with more curve and loft.

I always confused that with the Hamrlik. I think the Hamrlik replaced the Stevens and I think the Ozolinsh replaced the Andreychuk.

I also remember the Robitaille, which was a massive sloping heel.

Oldest urban legend in the industry: Once they make your custom pattern, they keep a record of it forever, NOT! Once they make your pattern, they throw out your sample and move on to the next order. As for Koho, they made sticks in Finland and the USA in the late 70s, early 80s. There is no "Koho stick factory" any longer. Gone with the wind.
