MIA gloves

Recommended Posts

i'm getting new gloves for the upcoming season...

im customizing a pair on miasports.com, and was wondering how the carbon fabric would differ from the material used on the vapor xxx gloves that i use now.

If it will just help them last longer then i'm cool with that...but was just wondering if that would make them feel different.

the nylon of the vapor xxx glove has a gritty almost fine grit sandpaper feeling to them due to the nature of the nylon, as to where the carbon material on the MIA gloves will be a more slick, and woven material close to synthetic leather would be my best comparison. the carbon material is hard to describe....

If youre wondering how it looks, there are good pictures posted in the "show it off thread" on the most recent pages. The silver ones are mine, and give a good look at the texture. The carbon should be more durable than the nylon

Edit: The fit will surely be different from your XXX's. If that is what you meant by "feel" then no matter what material you pick, they will feel different simply due to fit.

On my MIA's the material didn't make too much of a difference for me to be honest. My main part on my glove is nylon while the cuff is carbon and so far the nylon is holding up better than the carbon.

Hmm interesting. Actually, now that you say that, I have seen some gloves (MIA, Eagle, Muskoka, TPS?) whose "carbon" has split and worn out.

from my experiences, ive had eagle carbon, and vapor xxx nylon, and prostock rbk nylon gloves, the nylon has held up alot better then the carbon, and from what ive seen in the show it off, and sell threads it seems to be a common pattern that the nylon is more durable.

the "durable" carbon material is probably the most undurable material I've seen on gloves.

Agreed. Next to the proglow material that eagle used on some of their models, this is the stuff that I see fraying the most. I have always been a big fan of nylons too. I have never had a pair of nylon gloves break down. I still have my first pair of ccm 452 tacks jr nylon gloves.

Tufftek will last a lot longer than carbon.

If you're going MIA for durability, choose a tufftek outer shell and maybe carbon outside stripes for the look...
