messed up feet

Recommended Posts

I went to my LHS a few hours ago to try on the Vapor XXXX's and the One90's and they both fit my foot very well. Now from what ive heard theyre supposed to fit different types of feet. I was just wondering what your guys' oppinons on this were.

Well, I'm thinking that you must not know what a proper fitting skate is.

Actually XXXX's tend to fit differently than past vapor models. It's entirely possible that both skates feel like they fit.

If you were in pain when you put them both on, then that is correct! JK.

Everyones feet are different, I always remember that no matter how much a skate might seem like it fits for the 10 minutes I am trying it on in the store...It will usually give me at least 2 weeks of complete pain on the ice until they break in. (Actually with bauer it has always taken me longer, but I am always happy after enduring the pain with the results.)

My feet fit both skates perfectly fine. The One90 fits different than anything I've tried before but the Vapor XXXX reminds me more of Nike V-12s.

So has the Vapor fit changed at all, or is it just the XXXX's?

Vapors changed in the way they fit

I couldn't think about lacing up a pair of XX's or XXX's but XXXX's are a breeze.

im a little confused. i thought the general one90 "fit" was tight, but the XXXX was for slightly wider feet. im starting to feel im a ways off in my thoughts. can anyone shed a general idea on fit between the 2? i know its pp/what fits when you try it on, but they cant be identical.

I haven't tried on either but most Supreme series (one90) are generally a little wider fitting and a little deeper of a boot than Vapors. The one90 has I think something called "0 Space Fit" but that doesn't mean it's narrow--it's probably just the construction of it.

the one90 has the supreme name but doesn't really share the same qualities.

Keep in mind that the XXXX is going to fit more feet than a one90 can because of the padding in the ankle area. For example, I can't wear a one90 but I wear the XXXXs.

Some people seem to have no trouble fitting into different models of skates comfortably with little or no pain and once broken in any pain that did exist, disapates. You may be one of those people. I can fit into a lot of different models fairly comfortably as long as they are an E width skate. I find CCM and Easton are perfect for me, however I find Nike/Bauer,Grafs and Missions are a bit on the tighter side in the models I like. The most comfortable skates I've found are Nike's but the fit is also a bit sloppy because of the room in the toe cap area. It's an absolute blessing to be one of those people that can fit into multiple brands so just go with it and be happy you are one.

does it matter that i feel the pain in the front half of my foot? the ankle is good, and while im skating there isnt pain, but when im on the bench the front half of my feet start to lose feeling. im wondering if this could be contributed to the design of the one90...

it might be that you are lacing the skates a bit too tight or that the skate might just be a bit narrow for you in the toe area. At least that seems to be my experience with it. How long have you been skating on them?

If they are already past the break in period, I would try to loosen up the laces a bit down low and see if that helps. You'd be amazed how much it might help.

ive had the skates since around the end of october, and have been in about 20-ish games since then. i did think of loosening up the skates, ill have to try that tomorrow.

good luck, hopefully that's the issue. If not, you might need to get the skates stretched or punched but I'd consider that last resort because you can't undo it.
