One90 Stick

Recommended Posts

I am looking for a new stick to replace my Easton ST and i was thinking about the Bauer one90. I wanted to know how this performed compared to the ST and also if it is as durable as the ST?

Thanks

Coming from an ST, the One90 performs better than the ST in all ways possible. The ST torqued on every shot for me, and I just got fed up with it and got a One90. To make a long story short, it was a very good decision. I love my One90's, amazing feel and great durability. No chips on either of them. I got the first one in November, and the second in March. Right now I prefer the second one I got because I love the P106 (Gagne) curve.

There is no grip on the One90. There is a tactile texture which I happen to like very much. On the other hand, the One90 Stick'um has a grip on top of the tactile texture. The grip is similar to the XXX-Lite grip

I know people have said the One90 is durable but is it as durable as the ST as i tend to mash up blades pretty quickly?

I've had my One90 for like a month and a half and there isvery minor signs of wear on the blade, but the paint chipped really bad.Oh well.

I had my first One90 since November, second since March. Still structurally sound which no blade chips...I play three or four times a week

I haven't had a one90 yet, but my friend has had two, both broke within two weeks, and he's not known for killing sticks. He said he loved the performance of them while he had them though, maybe it was just bad luck.

Torquing is when the shaft twists and that causes the blade to become uneven and whatnot and your shot has no accuracy afterword. I think it was Chadd that had a lot of torquing problems with his Innos

The stick is described as having a wide taper. What effect does this have on flex as i prefer stiffer sticks? Also how light is the stick as i find the ST a nice weight for me?

Haven't posted in awhile, but my One90 has been holding up fairly well since I bought it in January. A few paint chips here and there, with one huge chip near the taper (somebody slashed me there), but no structural damage with the blade or the shaft so far. Keep in mind that's only about 3 months of playing, and even then averaging 4 times a week (not my usual ice time during the season). The tactile finish is sort of slippery, but I dislike grip sticks anyways so that's a plus. Otherwise, I can't comment since I haven't had any experience with the ST.

Sorry for threadjacking, but has anyone ever tried to turn the One90 into a tapered shaft yet? I don't think it deserves its on thread...

I got an intermediate One90 and chopped off a few inches so now the flex is probably near a 75-80, and it's perfect for me. I wish there was a standard 80 flex because that would work out perfect for me, since I'm too strong for a 65-67 but too weak for an 85, on top of the inches I'd have to take off due to me being short (5'4")

I love the feel of the one90 shaft, i prefer the textured "grip" as opposed to a sticky grip. I feel as though it gives you more control of the stick while sliding your hand up and down the shaft.

That really could be taken a couple different ways. :o

The stick is pretty light, not super light like the Stealth and especially the Response Lite (now THAT stick is super light!), but it ranges from around 420 grams; a noticable difference from your ST (which is around 460).

And yes, the 102 flex should feel the same as the 100 flex; NBH just adds 2 to every Easton flex (in the name, not the actual flex), but they are equal.

Just out of curiosity and to save me emailing all the shops, how much on average is a senior one90 OPS? All the sites have call for price, and being in australia thats not a cheap call. Anyone know the cheapest site to get it from? HM?

Also i saw that someone asked about turning the one90 into a shaft after breaking it. Has anyone done this yet? With the different style of taper i'm wondering what sort of blade you would put in a broken one90.

I believe that icewarehouse and hockeymonkey have a direct price email setup going... although HM hasn't actually sent me a requested email. BTW IW is intant when a price request is made. BUT I don't believe they can ship it to you, you'd have to find an alternative to get the stick to you.

Average was around $150 or $160 IIRC. I know the stick-um version goes for $160 at Ice Warehouse.

Thanks heaps for that guys, i was expecting it to be sort of around that range. Srprising though that the shaft version is so cheap, around $74 US.

That's because the shaft+blade version is a standard shaft, so it loses the performance benefits that a tapered shaft or one-piece get from their taper.
