New skates,

The outsole on my 1152's has cracked in the heel on both skates. So i'm out for a new pair of skates..

I'm not willing to spend more than $250, since i only will be able to play twice a week next season..

Im choosin between Vapor XIV's, Vector 7 (-04) and 892 Tacks (-06).. I haven't tried on either but i know i fit in to 2E Vapors and D in both Vector's and Tacks..

I really liked the stiffness of the -03 1152´s, so i would choose the ones that are closest to the 1152's stiffness wise.

Help me out!

(Hockey gear is much more expensive here in Sweden, so my selection isn't that big)

My Vector (Pro) durability SUCKED. Can't imagine that 7s would be any better. 892's that a few of my friends have, seem to keep going really well. Don't know about Vapors (though i think they would fit differently than your 1152s).

yes, the vapors fit different, a little bit narrower, lower cut etc. But they still fit quite well, without any kind of discomfort..

It seams like my feet are made of rubber, that can be molded to fit any skate :D

t-bone maby you got a bad skate i also had vector pros and they held up just fine accept for the minor cuts and things i would imagine the vector 7s would be fine

How about the stiffness then? stiffer/softer than the 1152's? And what kind of outsole does the V.7 have?

The 7.0 will not be as stiff as the 1152's were. The outsole is fiberglass.

ok.. How about the vapor XIV? I assume it's the vapor model that is one step below the XIX, or? How is it stiffness wise, and what material is the outsole made of? It says Pro-8 but not the material.

Swede, THe XIV fits well and its light but the problem i had was the toe cap. It kills! The XIX is also awesome! if tacks fit better i suggest sticking with it. Did your lhs get the new vapors in yet? try those on, they fit completely different.
