changing flex on a stick

Recommended Posts

Sounds like flex is your main issue here as that's a big increase in stiffness, but just curious...When you switched to the 65 flex, did you change curves / lies? I've tried curves that were completely different than what I am used to and, notwithstanding that the flex was relatively similar, my shot was much worse (ie my technique would need to adjust to shooting with a new curve).

recently i went from a 50 flex to a 65, but i had to cut it like 8 inches so now its like 90. MY SHOT SUCKS.

Any advice?

Put an Oggie Grip on it. It measurably enhances the flex, so your 65 will probably end up closer to a 57-60.

Wouldn't the added (asymmetrical) flex negatively effect the way the shaft kicks?

Are the additional flexes the same for the classic grip and the ergo one? (senior) Or is one more flexier?

I think Joe said the Classic Grip has measured as slightly flexier. On the other hand, the Ergo has tended to be more popular.

Just a guess, but given shot speeds have measured higher with the grips, it's likely that the flex by the wrist is actually positive to the way the shaft kicks.

I have some similiar issue with my Z-Bubbles, one of them is an older ( blue ) and a last year's chrome. Both are 100 flex, same blade curve everything, than how come that the blue is stiffer than the chrome one?
