Which wheel should I choose?

Recommended Posts

I need some help deciding what Rink Rat wheels I want to get. I don’t have a LHS that sells wheels near by so I need some help choosing which Rink Rat wheel to choose and in which hardness for both a normal and micro hub bearing wheel. I weigh 180 pounds and some of the wheels I like and have used in the past are the Revision Variant Platinum wheel and the red Labeda Fuzion wheel. Any suggestions on what rink rat wheel and hardness to choose would be nice.

best bang for the buck in my opinion is the rink rat hot shot.im at 167lbs right now ,(summer weight)i use 62/76.the 62is the inner urothane, and the 76 is the outer hardness,im on sport court and the hot shots work great.

Micro hub- mb 816 78a, regular hub hot shots(better value) 78a. I have been wearing rink rats for a while and have had hot shots, hornets and mb816's. With your size I would go with 78a durometer.

na na na you got it all wrong your not gonna wanna go with the hornets bc they break apart and they arnt worth the money... go with the hotshots in the tri di setup it works like a charm... tri di is 72mm wheel:76a then your two middle wheels 78a and then your back wheel 80a and you might want to change the 72mm to a 78a just because you weight a little more than me... but thats just how i roll

Could some of you weigh in on this? (Pun intended)

I'm 150lbs and play mostly on the painted surface that's underneath ice rinks, and I'm on the mission 80-80-72-72 hi-los.

What hardness should I be looking at? I've seen setups where people use harder wheels in the back, and softer ones in the front. Then I see Revision's wheel matrix that suggests having harder wheels in the middle and softer ones on the end. Help?

P.S. Slightly OT to this thread, but I'd be buying from InlineWarehouse to ship to Canada. Will they ship as gift or ship with UPS to save me the ridiculous customs/duty charges?

What?

So you are basically saying the whole indoor/outdoor distinction is just a hoax?

76A hotshots or MB816 should serve you fine. I do 76A x2 in the front 78x2 in the rear. Weigh 214

hotshots because with the mb's there is less urathane and less mtech plus the plastic hub is constantly breaking
