How to fix my Synergy SL ?!

Recommended Posts

Today, luckily i bought a 2 ft of that textile, they advised me carbon so that's what i got laying around on my desk, and it wasn't even very expensive, only 12$. I done some sandpapering on the blade, so it's ready to be done. Hopefully i would be able to post some pics about the "renovated" blade.

Also, if it's just to cover, get a ding repair kit from a surf shop, resurface it with some of that, light, thin and durable

Smokey,

I like your idea but I'm thinking oliverloran may have a hard time finding a surf shop in Hungary. I know, I know, he could find it online at surfgiantmonkey800eastwest.com.

Hey, there's surfing in Budapest, all you need are some friends, a bridge and a couple of sticks of dynamite

btw thats an ad for quicksilver, thats highly illegal. well staying on topic hows that repair job going

it actually sounds like a pretty hot idea, but unless you have permission from the country, have the roads blocked, police around the area, firefighters and EMT crews on standby, and are trained/ supervised by proffesionals, then you would go to jail for a LONG time

So far, I've been only playing with the material, i just cut a small piece of the fiber and applied epoxy to see some results, so far it's doing fine. Actually it has soooo thin fibers in it, that i'm very amazed and the fibers in the textile can slide on each other also very easly, so once i cut a piece off, it might split up to fibres. In longterm i have an idea of making a composite blade for myself, it doesn't seem so difficult, So i can make a Shanny again :)

different spot, same problem:

i got a small but kinda long split on my toe, its going from under the blade around to the top of the toe:

is there anything what i can do? i thought of putting some superglue into the gauzy split or maybe "epoxy" but actually

i dont know where to get it (probably a homestore) and how to use it since ive never seen epoxy in person to be honest.

the blade is pretty solid and i dont notice any disadvantage besides then i toedrag the smarthockey ball or a puck, then it gets a bit

louder cause the both sides of the split touch eachother but also there is no loss in performance, but if i dont do anything there surely will be.

thanks

gorilla glue?

At last, i fisnished it, about 2 days of work, sandpapering and epoxi everywhere, it's done. I don't want to say anything, the pictures speak for themselves... hopefully today i will have some feedback to myself that did it help anything

i tried the stick, structurally i didn't feel anything, that it did change something, but it added some weight towards the blade so the balance is screwed a bit, but it's not so horrible. Anyways, i chose to change a brand new TPS Adrenaline to this stick ( which might not sound as a good idea ), but i like this kinda curve a lot it's like the Skrastins. So i tried to shoot with the stick a couple of times, and it was a bit stiffier what i like but it sounded great, i mean i didn't here anything annoying. This repair costed me like 10-15$. I bought 50g of epoxy, 2ft of carbon tube ( a tubular shaped textile, like a sock just without ends sewn together), so i sandpapered the whole area where i pulled this "sock" on first applied epoxy under and above the carbon. But i can say, making the epoxy smooth, was tough work i was working 2 hrs to make it look like on the photo.

Well i can say, it worked but in longterm, will see, but it looks very strong. Anyways what i forgot before i applied this "sock" i filled out the hole with epoxy so it will be in same level as originally.

Finally i broke it, the breakage occured when during a game someone kicked my stick with his skate, so one of the bottom corners of the shaft were cut thru. Next training the stick broke in half, after a couple of slapshots and wristshots, but no clue, finally it broke when i was practicing passing. LOL

The composite fix what i've done, start to chip out at the bottom and i figured u cant repair a stick its like concrete either you make the whole out of one simultenous piece or it will fell apart.
