thefelixculpa 0 Report post Posted July 12, 2007 I wrote in another thread about that lax.hockey.com website that is selling stuff super cheap. As I noted, they have the XXX gloves for 93 dollars. They also have the XX gloves for 90 dollars.I understand that the XXX are better for feel and mobility, but how much better are they?Normally I would obviously pick the higher end model when I could get it without paying extra, but I am really scared of the weak palms I have been hearing about with the XXXs.If I were to purchase the XXs, based on the reasoning that I want palms that will last longer, how much would I be giving up in all other areas not including durability? How similar are the feels? Does the adjustable cuff on the XXs allow you to make the cuff quite loose to allow for better stick handling like the XXXs?
blues_91 0 Report post Posted July 12, 2007 They are both the highest end gloves. The difference is the palms and the shell. It's personal preference when it comes between picking either glove. A looser cuff won't allow for "better" stickhandling, it depends on the user's preference. My vote goes to the XXs though, I am currently debating ordering a pair since my LHS is unable to get me the gloves I want.
hudsonhockey22 0 Report post Posted July 12, 2007 agree with blues .... different glove, but both very high end. Its just what you prefer, so id go to your lhs and try them on ... again, out of the 2, my vote goes to the xx's.

BK 0 Report post Posted July 12, 2007 They are completely different gloves. Everything from their palms to the fitting is different. Its like the difference between One90 and One70 model skates. XXX's-Super Lightweight-THIN palm (usually comes with an extra set due to durability issues).-Moderately tight fingers, medium palm tightness.-BIG flared cuffs.XX's-Lightweight-Normal Palm thickness. Good feel to it still.-Tight fingers, medium-tight palm.-tighter cuff than the xxx.Long story short is to get what fits your hand. XX's fit my hands. XXX's fit but they feel like they are going to fall off.
