Quality of your rink?

Recommended Posts

Hey just wondering how nice your guys's rinks are?

The rink I play at is probably the shi#$iest rink I have ever played at or seen. Terrible boards dents all over, instead of glass we have some slots that are filled with wood planks, uneaven ice, extreamly hard ice, absolutely freezing (not your average rink coldness, way below) and the cieling drips, the Zambony door doesnt shut all the way resulting in a huge hole in the ice.

lol nice one... that is priceless

and my rink is brand new with 2 sheets of ice and a small sheet of ice with bumper cars on it. very nice, but the ice is kinda soft and locker rooms are kinda small too. it's also too warm. i swear its near 60F in there, i get all sweaty in my gear before i even hit the ice.

I play in the house league at the Washington Capitals practice facility in ballston VA.

Good ice, big locker rooms, nice facility, on top of a mall, so several bars downstairs.

Good deal all round

I don't even want to talk about my local rink, seeing as I never play there, so the New England Sports Center is pretty much my home rink. It is pretty nice. The ice ranges from bad to good on the 5 rinks, though. The locker rooms are pretty big and it's only a mile away from a mall so that's nice. Ice is expensive, though.

Other than summer season soft ice, most of the facilities around Buffalo are good. Sometimes uneven in the corners or boards, sometimes destroyed by open skates with 200 people, but generally nice arenas. We play tonight, and I'm sure the rink will be slushy.

I'd trade with any of you. Our local rink is the arena where our minor league team plays. The only ice time for adults is rec league games - no stick & puck or open hockey to speak of.

Plus, the ice is only in between September and April. Ice time during the summer requires a minimum of 2 hours on the road one-way. People are supposedly trying to get a year round facility running, but nothing is actually happening as far as I know. Ugh...
