T'blade brand hockey skates

Recommended Posts

Just wondering what the T'Blade brand skates were (are, if they're still making them) like. What did they fit like? The good, the bad, and the ugly?

Pretty sure those aren't what he's talking about. There were skates that were actually branded T-blade, though I only saw them on websites.

Does anyone else think it would be hysterical to see a pair of T-Blade branded skates with conventional runners swapped out for the T-Blade holders?

Mildly amusing may be a better phrase than "hysterical".

Alanis Morrisette may call it "Ironic".

You know what struck me as ironic the other day? We i-yearn a shirt, but events are i-ron-ic.

Between all the idioms and skipped letters, no wonder English is considered a difficult language to learn. It becomes more apparent when your kids are learning to read. They'll say something and you'll say, "Wait a second, lemme see that.....Well, you actually read that correctly, but we, um, we don't pronounce it that way."

it's supposed to be said i-ron, but at some point in time, the grammatical metathesis of the word 'iorn' became accepted. It's no different than people saying let me "axe" you a question... aks from ask... iorn from iron.

my goalie rants about this all the time

It struck me when I was listening to a song by Big Country, who is from Scotland. The refrain says, "Give us i-ron. Give us rope."

I've always found that humorous until I realized, "Wait a second, that's how it's supposed to be pronounced!"
