NikeBauer Flexlite 18

Recommended Posts

Do they look that significantly different than the Vapor XX series?

I'm not that familiar with the Vapors - I guess they both have that silver and grey coloring but the Nikes have more silver. The Flexlites definitely look weirder close up versus their pictures. The heel has some weird light refracting material that changes from black to silver depending on how you're looking at it, and there's some strange looking patch where the toecaps meet the soles. And I think the tall cut and big toecaps make it look even more bizarre.

On the ice, I don't think anyone would notice or care. But I wouldn't be surprised to get some ribbing in the locker room tonight.

just to bump this old topic I have a question for the flexlite users here. Since its a high cut boot does it limit your flex when you skate???

Compared to my Externos, I found that the Flexlites had better and smoother forward flex. That said, I took Scarecrow's advice and left the top eyelet undone last time I skated on them, and they felt awesome. I'll be skating that way from now on. Of course, the Flexlite fits my foot shape a lot better than the E60s, so I also don't have to crank down on the laces to keep my heel locked in (which made the E60s really difficult to flex).

Ogie Oglethorpe when you have the flexlite does is it harder to flex then other boots because its a high-cut?

I wouldn't really know as since they were a size too big I never skated in them. However, holding up against my Pro Tacks, the back of the ankle where it meets the tenon guard is actually slightly lower while the front (towards the laces is about 1/2 inch - 3/4 inch higher.

I never lace my top few eyelets anyway, so would have to wonder if I'd notice or not.

Wider feet in Europe/Asia.

Yes, same as the previous Flexlites. It was supposed to be gone, surprisingly they kept it.

Very good to know. Cheers JR.

As per enzo, I did ask my local about custom ordering the 12s, and was told that NBH's official answer is no. The only thing they might do is a different holder.

hey fyi, we just got word on friday that we can do the 20s for custom. the previous word that we knew was that they were unavailable.
