Sher-wood blades

Recommended Posts

Alrite i bought custom sher-wood blades a few months ago, started using them the first week of july and i have broken 3 already. I put a layer of toe pro clear along the blade thinking it would make them last longer,is there anyway that is why they are breaking so quick? One of the blades lasted me a month, one of them broke cuz i used it outside which i knew it was going to break but one broke after two ice times and the one i replaced that with ive used 3 times now and the bottom is already chipping. I also try to re tape it every ice time.

It is possible you just got a bad batch.

I recieved my custom sherwood blades about a month and a half ago and the first blade is just starting to wear out now. Pretty much doing the ole sloppy wood blade thing. But chipping is only happening on the toe.

Try putting a strip or 2 of tape along the bottom of the blade before taping it, try cushion the blow a bit. Well as long as it doesn't affect your shot.

...has it been awhile since you used wood blades regularly? I've found that, whenever I try to experiment with new twigs a bit, I'm always a bit surprised with how long the wood blades (don't) last.

Three busted woodies over the course of several weeks doesn't sound that remarkable (assuming you're playing relatively regularly).

make sure to take the tape off as soon as you get off the ice. that helps from water soaking in to the blade i find. Ive always found that sherwood blades go faster then any other type.

ive been using wood blades this summer and havent been doing that one blade went to shit after about 5 ice times but the one im using now is holding up alright. its starting to get beat up now. keep in mind im using easton blades not sherwoods.

I find easton blades get sloppy like after a couple usages.

mine are pro stock ones so taht could be why there holding up ok.

That seems to be quite a valid possibility.

Anyone used the 950 taper blades? How's the durability?

Not good, I had regular taper, and I'm not a shooter at all, went thru 3 of them in one month.

Cheers

Thanks for the heads up. I figured they'd go soft fast.
