LHS in Montreal and Quebec City, are they pricey

Recommended Posts

So, for my 30th birthday this year, myself and my wife, along with 2 friends from back home are meeting up in Montreal, and going to the Habs/Sabres game on Oct 20th, then up to Quebec City for a couple of days.

Are there any good LHS up there that have good prices, or any used gear shops that have great prices.

We are only going for 5 days, but I'm thinking of packing my little bit of stuff into a big spare hockey bag I have, so if I see a couple of good deals, I can fill it up.

As the whole thing is for my b-day, my wife can't get TOO upset at a little bit of canadian gearwhorery on the trips

There are many shops in Montréal and QC City. In Mtl, you've got Rousseau Sports which really THE place for hockey in Mtl, since they have the biggest inventory on the island. My favorite is A.Roy Sports, it's smaller but the service is great. There's a few Hockey Experts stores in Mtl as well, but I've never been to any of them. There are lots of other shops but people who live in Mtl would probably know more about them.

Now as far as Qc City is concerned, YOU HAVE TO GO to L'Entrepot du Hockey. This place is great, but be aware it can be pricy. The have a huge selection of gear and the goalie section is one of the nicest I have ever seen.

If you happen to travel from Mtl to Qc City on the North Shore of the St-Lawrence River, I suggest you stop by Trois-Rivières. There's a Hockey Expert next to the highway and it's pretty damm nice, they've got a "Testing Zone" for OPS. If you wanno go there, just PM and I'll give the directions.

Rousseau is huge. The ones in St-Hubert and Laval are the biggest. There the size of a walmart. As for prices go... there not as good as the prices in the states because of the exchange rate.

That's one thing we dont lack. There are plenty of hockey stores in Montreal Island, but we can't match the prices in the states. As far as used stuff goes , you can try Play it again Sports , I believe there are 3 outlets in Montreal to check out.

Sorry to bump this old thread, but my team is going to a tournament in Montreal in January. I believe we're staying near downtown close to McGill? Are there any stores near there that are a must-see with a large selection? Also, any with pro stock sticks? Thanks for any help.
