Pants Question

Recommended Posts

Howdy,

So I've done some searching, looked back about 8-10 pages in this sector of the forums, and didn't really find anything of what I was looking for. Also checked out the catalogs, but those never help a whole ton.

My questions is basically "What's good?" in regard to offerings in the way of pants, as the title suggests.

I currently have a MBP8 Girdle that reeks of cat piss (goddamn cat) so it's getting tossed. I'm looking to go back to a more traditional pant, however (I had Mission M2's before hand).

I'm not concerned regarding brand, and price isn't a huge issue, though the more reasonable the better (not going to skimp on protective gear).

Thanks guys,

Pat.

The Mission L-7 or the new Fuel 120 are pretty decent protection at a reasonable price. Also take a look at the Itech 6600 which is a great bang for the buck.

If you have been skating in the mbp 8 for a while you will definately find skating in a more traditional pant very strange bt first. I use the girdle myself and had to use a pair of pants that i had used for years before and couldn't skate in them at all. Giving them a good wash might be an option

Why not just buy another MBP8 or a ONE90?

The are three absolutes: Death, taxes, and cat piss stink cannot be removed from hockey gear.

My deceased cat releived himself on my bag and destroyed shoulder pads, pants, and bag. Washing, febreeze, etc...did nothing. That stuff's like herpes.

Well if you can't get the smell out i'd in with jr and just go with a new girdle. I have a small stock pile of them just in case they ever stop making them

I tried on a handful of girdles a few months ago....and for me it came down to between the One90 and the Easton Synergy. I went with the Synergy as it felt more comfortable and more like a part of my body than the One90. I was just more able to feel the girdle on my body with the One90.

Don't know about the One 70's they haven't been on the market long enough to get a good sense of their durability. Tacklas are a good bet though if you like the Europeon fit.

The one90s are amazing. I have two friends that didn't really NEED new pants that have either bought them or are buying them in a couple weeks after trying mine on.

Well, I ended up with a pair of 6k pants. They were decently priced, and fit better than the XXX-lite, One90, and Fuel pants did. Little more convenient than a straight girdle set up too.
