Mission Wicked One's - I'm not tough enough!

Recommended Posts

Hey all.

I got some Wicked One's yesterday. I laced them up, stood up, immediately sat down and took the skates off for the last time. I will now sell them.

I have never experienced excruciating pain that was anything like the pain from the Wicked One's. It will be interesting to see Mission bag them out the day the Boss skates are released just like they did the day the D1's came out.

I have an email from Mission raving about the Type M's and the Vibe chassis one day before they released the D1's. They then admitted that the Vibe chassis was flawed and that the new line was "completely redesigned"

justin already admitted that the wicked ones had the problem with the carbon ankle area and quarters, and has described the boss skates as the best skates he has help designed, and after seeing and skating on the boss he is right, you will not be dissapointed with the new boss skates.

i just bought the Wicked 5's...they're great. still need to break them in, but the ankle is forgiving but not so much as to loose the stiffness of a higher end boot.

they're like $80 off at inlinewarehouse.com and if they don't have your size, epuck.com will match the price.

that's all if you don't throw the big bills down for the Boss i guess.

i tried on Benchboy's skates too and i when i finished doing them up i said "i dont see what hes complaining about..." then i stood up to roll away and almost fell over! I hope the Boss really is a different skate.

Anyone come across any other skates with the problem described above?

So can I swap the Wicked One's for a pair of the Boss' skates then? As you say Mission has admitted that there is a problem with the skates.

theyve admitted a problem to people as in its hard to break them in. there is nothing wrong with the skates, they just take a LOT of effort to get broken in. mine are great, but it definitely took a while, i dont think they owe you anything, hahaha.

got the mission wicked 1's baked, and used straight in a game (after sitting in front of the tv for 2 nights before that :) )

had small blisters on the inside of the ankle spur (think thats what is called). the blisters were about the size of a dime, and not that painful. I also laced them up really really tight... but on hindsight, maybe I'll lace them up tight at the ankle, and leave the top few eyelets a little loose.

I'm not sure, but I think he is. Either that or he is recovering from some serious ankle surgery that he's not telling us about.

Hey Saba,

I have a pair of Boss right now. They have last year's Wicked 7 chassis, but the boots are the most unbelievably awesome things I have tried. Although perhaps they are a few grams heavier than the Wicked 1's.

I think the new Boss skate is an awsome looking skate. I tried on a new pair at my LHS back in August when Mission reps were showing off their new Mission line up for 2008. I have two team mates skating on Wicked 1s and 3s and they hate them because of the time frame it takes to break them in and the pain they cause on their ankles. The new syndicate line up will be much better than the wicked line up in terms of comfort and time frame to break them in according to their reps. And they did agree that the wicked skates take too long to break in. Somwehere near two to three months. But they said they fixed all those problems with the new syndicate line up. They gave me an opportunity to try on the Boss skate and I think it's an awsome skate. I'm a Bauer fan and didn't care too much for Mission skates but looking at this new skate, I couldn't resist on pre-ordering the Boss skates back in August and hopefully I will be getting them by 10/1.

I recomend waiting for the new line up that will hit stores sometime in Oct, before deciding to buy the Wicked skates, which by then should be on sale. But prices for the lower models below the Boss and the Lieutenant should be similar to the wicked lower end models. Mission will have an entry and intermediate level skate at different prices. I think a total of 7 skate models. Go to inlinewarehouse.com if you want to check them out.
