This whole story stinks.

Am I the only one who thinks it's strange that a guy who is lying on the ice can wave his stick and accidentally hit the cage of a skater who is standing up and is 6'6"?

From fantasizing about fights in high school, to berating volunteer or underpaid referees to berating some old lady who works at a desk at the rink: This is the kind of guy who makes it a habit to take the shine off of recreational hockey, or any recreational sport for that matter. I wonder if there were any kids in the stands. What is their perception of hockey after seeing this guy go off on everyone in sight? Buddy, go home, grab a 6 pack, watch some pro wrestling and then try to fight the urge to kick your dog.

Everyone of my teamates thinks she's a bitch and believe it or not, I hit his cage , 6'6 is probably too much closer to 6'4 - we call him big bird w his yellow helmet

and i think some of you guys are forgetting that he was the one, after the whistle, that first cross checked me to the ice not once, but twice before I slashed him back. my teamates were pissed off and argued with the front desk about that guy not being suspended at all

Reffing for more years than you have been playing......on the initial cross check...2 mins, if you were on the ice and he hit you again.....5 minute major plus a game misconduct for cross checking. Your INTENTIONAL slash at his face, also 5 minute major plus a game misconduct. As for what you did outside fo the ice, as a ref I would of had no control over it. But just remember this, NO EMPLOYEE of ANY RINK will EVER defend the player over the ref. The second punks like yourself see insubordination with regards to referee and management relationships it would be a field day with people arguing with management over every call. So it sounds like you spent a little time in the box and this other guy may have or may not.....but did it REALLY alter the outcome of your life in a more grand scale? Of course it didn't....until you opened your big pie hole and mouthed off to management. FYI....people with power appreciate their power and don't like it to be challenged, so once you are old enough to get a job....don't try and pull something like this with your boss or other people in power as you indefinitely will loose almost everytime.
