SRS Stick Repair

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, first post here, so bear with me.

For Christmas last year, I was sent a brand new Easton Synergy Si-core grip. While it was being shipped here it got a crack in the bottom third of the shaft. It was to the point where I couldn't flex the stick without hearing the graphite cracking. So I determined it unusable and put it in my basement. I seen this SRS Stick Repair method on the internet, and realized there's a ton of shops around here that do this. I think my stick is able to be repaired this way but the question on my mind is, is this even worth it? I play from the point a lot, although I am a forward, and I use my slapshot a lot. I've had a well developed slap shot since I was younger, and wood sticks go soft in a matter of 2 practices. The first Synergy I owned was the original Silver synergy, it was a 100 flex, and I was 13 years old. So that gives you an idea as to how I use it.

>>>Basically, my question is, those of you who have had the repair done, do you think it is a worthy fix that'll last me the life of an actual non-repaired synergy?

Thanks

1. Welcome to the board!

2. Why didn't you get a warranty replacement?

3. There have been numerous topics on this and there's several good reviews on it (mine included-I fixed up a Tour Graphite stick 6+ months ago and it's still going strong, strong enough to break in other places not relating to the previously broken area...Lol). I would go for it. Unless it is a tapered stick in which case, you *probably* would be f*cked.

I got my Vapor XXX Lite repaired and couldn't be happier... It performs the way it used to before it broke. It does add a little weight but it has lasted me about 2-3 months of almost everyday use and its still going strong! $40 was worth it IMO

Didn't one dude send his stick in and get two different sticks melded together?

Ya, he had a xxx-lite and ended up getting something like a xn10 combined. That actually made me trying to imagine an O-Stick with a Kronik blade. Thought that would be interesting!

I had 2 repairs done. In my opinions it doesnt even add weight, well not noticeable.

But you will loose something like 1 inch maybe 1.5 inch of your stick.(for me it was a problem because my custom wood plug wasnt good anymore for my flip-down SL shaft.)
