A good wrist exersize is to take a bar, a rope/bungee cord/ and a 10-15 lb weight... attach the rope to both the weight and the bar, then hold the bar with boths hands, arms straight out, and turn it so that the rope is wrapping around the bar and the weight is rising. when the weight cant rise any further, slowly reverse the turning motion until the rope is no longer wrapped around the bar....repeat, however for the second time rolling up, wrap in the opposite direction.

the thing seems a bit too bulky so I could only use it at home what about this thing? This is nice and compact so I could carry it around and just crank it when I have time. Did anyone use it and what your thoughts on it?

main objective in try outs is to pay attention in what your doing so you don't look like bad and focus on your own game. Don't let those gosips and comments get to you. Like some guys behind you might talk crap about you and lower your self esteem,, don't let it get to you. For shooting i just go down to the basement find a wall, get a road hockey puck or sometimes just the tape roll and imagine the top shelfs and practise it. Hope this helps!

Hope you make it to the team best of luck :D

Strong forearms enable a quick and sharp wrist/snap shot, here's a good strength exercise: Kneel in front of a gym bench, rest your forearms on the bench and keep the flat during the whole exercise. Have your wrists hang in the air. Take a light weight to begin with (maybe 4Kg) and just lift up and down, using your wrists/forearms more or less to support the weight. Do this a few times until you feel you have done enough. If its easy after 4-5 reps try a higher weight. If not keep going and slot it in randomly in your exercise routine. 2-3 sets to begin with then up it. Don't do it two days in a row and you should see some nice gains between 2-4 weeks from starting.

well yes and no, the final cuts will be on October the 25th where the final 20 will be picked, right now we still have about 30 guys and till then we have a lot of dry land practices ahead... oh joy. hope I don't cough up a lung during one of them. So till then I'm working on my stick skills and doing lots of wrist training, as well and trying to improve my overall conditioning.

What kind of league is this? Any team I've ever played for has started games (tournaments, exhibitions/scrimmages, etc.) by the end of August/beginning of September and has usually started the regular season by the very beginning of October; two-to-three weeks before you're roster will even be finalized.

High school?
