RBK 9k Pants

I have had a pair of 8k pant since they first came out and I love them. However; I am playing on a new team this year and our colors are blue and my 8k's are black. I have never been a fan of shells over regular pants so I was looking at getting a pair of 9k's so I can just swap shells. My main question is how do they fit? Are they a loose fit like a traditionl pant w/o a shell? Or are they moe like a traditional girdle type fit?

i have tried them on but not skated with them and i liked them a lot (enough to order a pair), the fit is similar to the 8k but i felt that it was a bit snugger than the 8k but not as tight as a girdle, you really should go down to a LHS if you can and try them on but i think they're great pants

I thought the same thing, Cavs - I'm in the market for new pants, so I've given them a few looks now, and each time the first thing I've thought was "Jeez, these seem a Hell of a lot heavier than my 8k's." The protection seems absolutely flawless, but it seems to me like they tip the scales - which hardly fits in with the girdle/pant hybrid movement. I can't help but think it would be at least a little bit noticeable on the ice.

I've been skating with the 9K pant for a month now and I absolutely love them. Coming from a 8K medium to a 9K small, I can't really comment on the weight. If you liked the 8k, you will not be disappointed with the 9k. For the fit, the upper core feels like a compression short with padding and the lower core is the same as the 8K. As for the pants, only way to describe them as less bulky and more streamlined. Does anybody know if you could just order the shell?

I bought the 9k pant about a month ago and have loved them ever since. As mentioned, a little heavy, but nothing to lose sleep over. Very customizable. Very protective. Very comfortable. Great pant.

Thanks for the replies. I did end up ordering them to try them out (I could not find anyone in the Milwaukee/Chicago are that stocked them). Worst case is I lose out on the shipping cost but curiousity got the best of me. I should get them Thursday (first game is Sunday). I went w/ a SRL as that is the same size as my 8k's.
