Composite Radius

How many of you have experience with skating on a composite radius--lower on the front of the blade and higher on the back? Do you recommend it? For example, I guy I skated pick-up with tonight said his son uses a 7' on the front half of the blade and 13' on the back. This variation in radius seems like a huge difference to me, and I have no idea how it would feel on the ice.
