It shouldn't cost that much to fit a kid that age but if you still want to save a few dollars check your local rink to see if they have a equipment swap or gear exchange. Most of the items you may find will still be in good shape. Kids at that age outgrow everything well before it gets worn out.
Chadd 916 Report post Posted September 12, 2007 My old shop in Lancaster should be able to hook you up. I don't care for my old partner or his new employees but at least he learned that you stock stuff for the little guys. The other shops in the area feature a lot of high end gear but carry very little in the way of intro level stuff. Barring that, check out the Play it again on linglestown road or the one in Lancaster.
Jordan 13 Report post Posted September 12, 2007 I know that it sounds like crappy advice, but seriously check out Canadian Tire. They sell a complete set in a box (ie all CCM equipment or all Nike/Bauer) for around $100. Includes shins, pants, elbow pads, shoulder pads and gloves. You get helmet and skates seperately. It is a much better deal for these little guys than it is if you buy the pieces individually. One other thought, if you know anyone with a kid that is a year or two older. they will have outgrown their starter set, and honestly, at 3 or 4 years old, they don't wear anything out before they outgrow it.CCM packageNike Bauer package
