Cloutier on waivers

So, Bernier is getting a shot to start the year?

Looks like the Super Series guys got to camp ready to go. This doesn't bode well for Team Canada at the World Jr's though...if all these guys are making significant contributions to their teams...they may not be released to play.

I guess they're pretty sure nobody's going to claim him.

I wouldn't be overly surprised if someone took a chance on him, unless he's making crazy money.

Not sure if hell get a serious shot to start but expect to see him get his 9 games before they make a decision. By all accounts from the staff hes played great enough to stick around a while longer. Bernier himself has said hes doign what he has to do and his focus this year in the NHL.

I feel bad for Cloutier. I met him once, a nice fella. Very competitive, but unfortunately, he just couldn't put together the big wins when it counted most.

I think they want someone to claim him. Either way, they are going to lose his salary one way or another.

I wonder if LA will show any interest in Yann Danis. Montreal sent him to Hamilton...but he has to clear waivers first.

Danis has been solid, but in each of the last 2 years someone has come up and stepped in front of him on the depth chart (first Halak, now Price).
