nagy using a woody...

Recommended Posts

Honestly, if I were a big name pro, I'd be tempted to use wood sticks and treat them like toilet paper squares b/c when a great wood stick is fresh and has the right weight/balance/spring it can bring it like nothing else for the first few dozen shots.

It could be an actual one90 but with wood decals, like the XXXlite. i do remember seeing it in one of the videos on the NBH website, it was about the NBH rep i think.

Nevermind, he does use a one 60 wood

They say nothing is like a fresh wood stick. Lindros and LeClaire would use one a period because after a few shots they would loose their pop and be warped from the size of lindros and johnny. If I had the money I would do it.

Im in the market for a woodie, can someone recommend me one? Im a 85 Flex guy and love the Drury curve. I have absolutely NO clue about woodies, so i might look like a tool now.

Thanks.

I don't believe ther is a one90 woodie in NA. Sherwood's Drury was the Regehr(sp) but I'm not sure if they made it in wood. NikeBauer p91a is a true drury curve w/6 lie.

I used the one60 last season and loved it. Only lasted 6 games or so before it snapped but it was sweet. May give a SW 7000 a try or go back to the one 60 this season again. There's nothing quite like all wood for feel.

TSN just did a feature on wood sticks still being used int eh NHL...they are down to 18 regular NHL players (just over 3% of the League) using wood.

And, both Patrice Brisbois & Roman Hamrlik have been practicing with OPS to get used to it to try to make the switch for games.

16 and counting down...

I guess that number doesnt count shaft and wood blade users. It's amazing how the feel of composites is getting better, if you don't know what I mean buy a Pulse.

Yeah the 18 they referred to were guys using a WOOD stick...not including guys using combos with a wood blade
