Referee Pants

Hi folks.

I'm the latest to join the wonderful world of refereeing as I just got certified. Now it's time to get the gear. Most of it is straight forward, except for the pants.

The most popular referee pants seem to be the CCM PP8 or PP9's.

Question: What is the purpose of all those silver buttons around the waist? That's a lot of those things for suspenders. Am I missing something?

Some people like to put there suspenders at different positions, so I suppose having multiple buttons gives you the option.

My SP pants held up much better than the CCMs I had. Whatever you do, avoid the CCM pants with the pads sewn in.

Thanks for the tips refs. Does anyone have any experience with this company? It looks like they specialize in referee gear and are Vancouver based. I'd be happy to give my small bit of business to a local shop -- but it's always helpful knowing they're ModSquad approved.
