Tackla gives you the option to get a size 46 in +2 legnth. That will be the best way to go. Your lhs should be able to order them for you.

iirc those are the Canadian version. I ordered some 9000s a few months ago and they were the same as my old ones, so they should be the same for you as well.

The Canadian version IS different...much higher quality pant compared to the US sold Air 9000 made in Thailand.

The 9000 ACS is a top line pant. I think it is the best pant I have ever used...and I have used 5000 pros as well. In my opinion...spend the extra $$$ for the ACS Canadian. You will not be sorry.

The Canadian version uses a less durable nylon on the shell.

I ordered a pair of short 9000 ACS pants (-2) in June. I should get them next week at the earliest. I am now wearing Air 9000 (US version). I will let you know how the ACS pants are when (or should it be if) I get them. They might have more long (+2) in stock.

Yeah my buddy ordered these and loves them. I think he spent close to $300 with shipping and the insurance they made him buy, but they pants are great!

No, the ACS is a more recently updated pant. It has zippers and a flexible spinal pad, both of which the US Air 9000 does not. The liner also appears to be different.

Chadd:

According to the docs...it would appear that the difference between 500 and 420 nylon would reflect a less durable nylon, but I can tell you from experience that the 9000 ACS is a ton more durable. The Nylon is significantly thinker in density, and has a polyurethane coating which makes a big difference compared to the 9000.

I've seen ACS that were shredded in almost no time and when the same person changed to the US version they didn't have the same problems.

I have seen the opposite...so I guess they both suck! :P

I have received my 9000 ACS pants. They are more protective than the 9000 Air. However, I like both pants. I cannot yet comment on the durability of the ACS nylon shell. I had only a couple small tears in my 9000 Air.

ive had my 9000 air for about 1 month and i really like them. the only complaint i have is that the velcro strap that covers the zipper is too small. i wish the velcro strap was larger because velcro wears out over time and that small piece wont hold much once the velcro weakens. the flexible part of the pants on the inside legs at the very bottom are getting worn. they should be more abrasion-resistant. i guess they rub some when i skate. but overall i really like the pants.

I'm almost positive that the 9000 airs have zippers too.

$5 extra for the US model

sorry to bring this back up.

I was thinking of getting tackla pants, and although the 5000 air would probably be a decent choice, i have this "thing" that makes me want to use things that most other people don't(haha). And I am considering the 9000 acs as well(I'm not from Canada nor the US, and iirc I haven't seen anyone use this pant at least in the college league I play in and the beer league teams I've played pick ups). And on a side note I like the spinal pad as well.

But as it's been mentioned before the acs is a Canada only model so its probably gonna cost me alot to get one.

so all you acs users out there please let me know what you think. Should I just stick with the 5000??

Not to steal this thread, but what's the main difference between the 5000Air and the 5000+ or Pro? What level pant is the 5000Air?
