Easton S11 skates

How do these skates break in compared to a normal boot? I wore mine for the first time last night and they rubbed the outside of my ankles raw.

That rubbing could come from a number of different things. Wearing the skate Bare foot, wrong size just to name a few. Mine fit proper and broke in within the first skate however by my 3rd skate it was as if they were custom made just for me. Did you have them heat molded and did you get them because they were the right skate for you foot or for other reasons such as a light weight cool looking skate?

I always skate with socks. I tried pretty much every skate in the price range and these ones felt the best in the store, I had them heat molded and as far as I know thyey're the right size.

I have the worst rugburn on my ankles.

Where on your ankle is it? The boot is a higher cut boot and I know a few of us that do not tie the top eyelet on them because of the lack of forward flex and the high ankle support.

I think it's actually because the tongue comes back a little further than in my old skates and it's pinching and rubbing a little. I'll try leaving the top eyelets unlaced next time.

You didn't say if you left the heal lift in or out. My ankles did not line up properly with the lift in, once I took em out they fit great.

I left the heel lifts in. I'm almost positive that it was the tongue rubbing me, not the ankle pack. On Sunday, I wore some thin Under Armor socks for the first time and also left the top eyelets unlaced. That seemed to help. Of course, my ankles were already scabby and bruised so anything would have hurt.

Well then I would say that it is clearly obvious that these skates werent made for you. If your having this many issues now I would suggest to Sell'em and move on. What size are they?

A big chunk of the stuff on the toe cap got chipped off already, that kind of sucked.

Thats going to happen. Just one of the things that has not been perfected. Mine look like I've been using them for over a year of hard skating.

Did you try them with the superfeet insoles? I use those with the heel lift.

I don't have superfeet insoles. Tonight's only going to be my third time in them, so I'm still getting used to them. They're a pretty big change from my Flexlites.

I'm surprised that these skates fit your foot if the Flexlites did. Nile skates always ran rather narrow. These are quite a bit wider.
