Multiple Hockey Retail Sites

Recommended Posts

Just curious if anyone else is thrown off by these companies having multiple retail websites?

i.e. GreatSkate = HockeyEmpire (I'm pretty sure) & HockeyGiant now has Hockeyoverstock.com.

If you're going to try to deceive the public wouldn't you at least hire someone to make the advertising look different? Just my opinion, not trying to offend anyone.

Add Epuck to HockeyGiant...

How do you know this?

HockeyGiant now has Hockeyoverstock.com.

Are you certain about this? Overstock and Giant have different prices. Is it possible that they're just some people who grab up clearance stuff from the Giant site and then turn around to sell it again at a slightly higher price (not exactly a great business model, I know)?

I know there's a guy on eBay who obviously does this.

Go to epuck.com, and then click on Contact Us.

It was announced at the Toronto show last year.

This is inexcusable! This is almost as insidious as SummitOnline/HockeyDeals/BargainSports!

How do you figure?

Summitonline doesn't sell top-end equipment

Hockeydeals does

Bargain sells closeouts and minimum quantity items.

I've dealt with ePuck for years, and the customer service has been excellent. Plus, I live in the south, so when they were in Louisiana I would get my orders in 2-3 days via regular shipping. I heard that they moved to California, but I didn't know Hockey Giant bought them.

JR, I was just trying to bust your balls, but I didn't know which of those websites to buy them from. :D

The other way you can tell is check the WHOIS for the site's registrant.

If you go to Network Solutions or another internet site you can look up who owns the domain name. (unless it's hidden)

I can understand that with GreatSkate, as thats been their retail storefront name for years. Doesn't hurt to have an online presence with a different name either.
