Wow thanks for the info man!

I was wondering if the Habs had these kinds of sales. Looks like I'll have to take the 2 hour drive over there :)

If anyone is going to the Habs sale and might be able to pick something up, please PM me. Very much appreciated -- especially if you're driving up from Toronto (where I live) and could bring it back rather than ship it back.

Does the sale go thru the pro shop or is it separate? Can I call in to the pro shop and buy something thru them?

Cheers

Its a 1 day sale.

There isnt a pro shop at the Bell Centre.

You need to be there or have someone go there for you in person.

Thats the only way to buy merchandise!

Hey Gongshow. Was the stuff at the last Habs sale pretty much all crap or was there some good stuff in there?

Helmet, gloves, sticks, protective gear...that kinda stuff

I doubt that there would be Kovalev pro stocks for sale :)

Holy sweet Jebus, the weekend I'm going to Montreal to catch an NHL game, in a canadian city.... on the weekend of my 30th b-day.

Surely my wife cannot deny me this small indulgence!!!!

Will there be long lines, or could I nip in there early and be out in an hour?

They usually dont sell anything game used by Kovalev or Koivu, dont know why, but they keep them!

Most of those guys stuff are too custom to sell, Skates and stuff are weird

Do these usually get packs, if I'm there by 9, will I have time to get in and out by 10?

Cheers

Probably not.

Really, damnit, I'm not sure I will be able to spend the morning there, unless I have a damn good excuse, and "sweet, more hockey gear" isn't the kind of excuse that will fly

I was in Montreal last Mar when they had the last sale...We were in line shortly before 8:00, and by 9:00 the line was pretty long. I'm not sure if they start limiting entry...but the area where the sale is set up won't accomodate hundreds of people at once.

That was in really bad/cold waether...so if the weather is decent...I'd expect a big crowd even earlier.

Now, if you're in for a grab and pay memorbilia thing...you could probably be in and out quick...but if you are planning to take time to find a piece of gear that is still in decent shape to play in or whatnot...it is probably a longer time to go through the piles of stuff. (there were 2-3 tables FULL of helmets in various conditions).

What were prices like? I'd like a beatup helmet with a visor on it and Habs logos for the ol' Hockey mantle, maybe some blown out skates if they're cheap and someone is going to be there early.

Can't say I wouldn't mind a stick either, but I doubt those are cheap, or plentiful after people walk out with arms full.

Helmets - $50 and up (some Bauer, some RBK...mostly CCM's). Some had visors, but they were pretty banged up.

Pants - I didn't look at.

Gloves - $100 and up (from what I saw).

They didn't have any practice jerseys. They were selling some gamers, but they were EXPENSIVE.
