Easton S15 Questions

Recommended Posts

I had mine baked just to see how much better they would feel. I'm not sure about your question regarding the possibility of them stretching fore and aft though.

I wear a 10.5 shoe size, bought S15's in an 8. Didn't need them baked, feel great out of the box. Only problem I had was I had to remove the heel lift and the cheap insoles. Put in the shock doctor in soles and love the skates, no problem with durability.

from my exp with them, the stealth pad lock in the heel, tend to create more room after heated. it will fit alot better it the heel, and then it will create room in your toes

What Graf line are you interested in...Supra, G, Ultra G? The S15 is a wide boot also, as in a regular width fits like a wide in many other brands. If you have a narrow foot the S15 may not be an option.

no idea on the graf line...ive used Bauer (XX's) and RBK (9k)...and they're all good, but i've always been interested in grafs...and as a quick forward...these light (and comfortable) S15's are a good option for me also

Looking for something along the S15/Vapor trend you would want to look at the Ultra G line. Vapor's are narrow, 9K are wider, S15 are wide, Graf's cover the entire spectrum. You already know what advice everyone is going to give you.

I am coming from a pair of Vectors and was very interested in the S15. I had heard people talk about how comfortable they are but I was more worried about the durability issues. I guess my biggest question is in regards to the carbon on sides of the skate. Do they tend to crack and bend like the Mission Heliums/D1'cs. I am 6'1 and 220. Thanks for any feed back.

for me it wasnt the carbon that was the issue it was the leather etc, it simply wouldnt stick onto the carbon bits for long enough, i broke mine after 3-4months im still trying to find the memory card i have the pics on as soon as i find it i will put em up. gonna make it my mission for the next 30mins to find it

the warranty is 90 days and they were just out, but the shop i got em from in the US said if i post him them back he will get em replaced. i sent them back and he was good enough to let me exchange em for vapor XXXX's. cost me 40pounds to send em from the uk tho :( but still i cant complain when im getting a new pair of skates

True. But from what i heard its only a couple of skate that get that prob.I heard from a lot of s15 user that their skate is holding pretty well.

For others this may be true.

From experience i am very hard on skates and i prefer very stiff skates. i look after them very well, dry them immediately after use and lace up fully etc but for some reason i destroy skates. i had a pair of z-air comp se's which i heard were meant to take ages to break in and were virtually indestructable. i softened mine up so the support was basically gone(for my liking) and the boots were cut and frayed to bits in 1 season. skates tend to last me about 1 season and i accept it but 3months was a tad sketchy. incase any of u think i am a 2 tonne skate warping monster im about 190 and 6'1" i have no ankle leaning tendencies and consider myself a strong skater(good technique along with good foot speed and strength)

i cant see how the S15 lasted me 3 months when my synergy 1500's lasted me a year and could have probably lasted another half before the carbon cracking had made the structural integrity drop

Got s15's when the season started, and are completely destroyed in less than 3 months. Every piece of leather has seperated from the carbon. Very comforatable skate though

exactly what happened to me.

dont get me wrong the skates were immense. Light, extremely responsive and oh so sweet and comfortable just wish they had lasted the year

i wouldnt neccessarily say try again because alot of guys are saying there are no problems and that they are more durable than the 1500(which i had no quarrels with). They are amazing skates but like you said i cant risk another pair because of my personal experience. I have vapor XXXX's now so we shall see how they go.

i love easton skates and unless these vapors do a job on me and maybe even if they do i reckon the next skates i will actually spend money on may be the synergy 1500's again because i loved them. either those or some nice new sparkly model easton bring out before the XXXX's breakdown lol

I'm now in my 6th month and haven't had any issues (probably just put the whammy on myself). I really like the skates so I hope I don’t.
