thefelixculpa 0 Report post Posted October 23, 2007 I just have a quick question about the blade pattern DB on this site.I see that the listed specs on here are often different than the specs listed at other sites.I am assuming that the ratings on this site are based on what everyone here agrees to be the TRUE lie, curve, face, etc. of the blade, as opposed to the ratings based on the manufacturers standards. Is this correct? One thing that confuses me is that I see Warrior rates the Draper and the Robitaille the same lie(5), but over here the Draper is a 5.5 and the Robitaille is a 5. I can understand that Warrior's lie ratings may not be totally accurate, but why would they rate two different lies as the same, and why would some of their lie ratings be consistent with the pattern DB here and not others?I am currently a Forsberg user but am looking to try out a bigger curve without changing the lie or face much. I am interested in purchasing the Robitaille am just wanted to make sure that this is a true 5 lie.
Rustpot 1 Report post Posted October 23, 2007 Fedorov, Draper, maybe a few other patterns from Warrior are available in a few different lies.If I'm not mistaken, one of the things Warrior got a bad rap for was inconsistency between patterns, and doing things like listing the information from the cloned pattern after having tweaked something from it.Your best bet is to walk into the store and compare the two sticks. I brought a stick to my LHS trying to see if there were any blades with the same curve and lie and the owner couldn't have cared less.
Ogie Oglethorpe 14 Report post Posted October 23, 2007 Unfortunately, the DB is not always updated and the patterns do change from time to time. SO, answer is, it's tough to say.

I am interested in purchasing the Robitaille am just wanted to make sure that this is a true 5 lie.The draper has a big rocker while the Robitaille is much flatter. Warrior seems to measure the lie with the heel to middle of the blade on the floor/ice/etc... and that will throw off the lie measurement. Our numbers are based on the middle of the blade being flat on the ice, regardless of the rocker.I will attempt to update the lies of every curve after the shows. As just about everyone is skipping Detroit, it will take until the Vegas show to get most of them up to date. The constant change of names, pattens and lies makes it difficult to keep the DB accurate. Even more so now that I am not running a shop and seeing everything on a daily basis. thefelixculpa 0 Report post Posted October 24, 2007 I have been driving myself crazy this past week trying to decide on a pattern to pair with my new R6 Armor shaft.I've been staring at the pattern DB until my eyes fall outI've been using a Forsberg Synergy II and I like the blade, but I am interested in a bit more curve. Every blade I see seems to have one catch that I don't like. The Afinogenov seems like the best choice for me except that I really don't want a face less than slightly open. The Frolov would be great if it wasn't WIDE OPEN. The Nash would be PERFECT if it wasn't a 5.5 lie. So anybody: A 5 lie, no less than slightly open w/ a mid/mid-heel curve a little larger than the forsberg?????? Man...if only the Nash or Sakic were a 5 lie
Chadd 916 Report post Posted October 24, 2007 Retail patterns suck, especially the selection of lower lies. I would just have something made up the way you want it.

thefelixculpa 0 Report post Posted October 24, 2007 Retail patterns suck, especially the selection of lower lies. I would just have something made up the way you want it.How much extra does that usually cost?I was initially going to settle with the Afinogenov, but I read a post on here by someone who used it claiming that it is not infact a 5 lie. would a p106 work?I was looking at that. I'm a bit weary of the long blade length though as well as the heel curve. I like a mid-heel or mid curve.

Either go with customs or decide what property is least important.

thefelixculpa 0 Report post Posted October 25, 2007 Sounds like a Warrior Draper in a 4 lie. I changed from an Easton Forsberg and the lie is very similar. The Draper is a moderate mid curve with an open toe...how do you go about choosing what lie you want your warrior blade to be in?I see them at LHS and online and the patterns are the lie that they are, no choice of lie within patterns.I've tried the Draper, but can't find it in any lie except 5.
DamnLocust 0 Report post Posted October 26, 2007 '07 warriors have a choice of lie (4,5,6). warrior's 5 lie draper is like a 5.5, their 4 lie is closer to a 5 lie. The lie should be marked on the shaft of OPS, as well as on a sticker on their blade. if it doesn't have any markings regarding lie, then it's an 06 model, and a "5" lie (really 5.5). wetwilly17 6 Report post Posted October 26, 2007 the easton heatley curve is the same lie as the modano/forsberg but with a bigger curve (not too big). id call heatley a mid-mid-heel curve and i'd call modano a heel-mid-heal curve.i use modano also. i also like the heatley because of its low lie, very little loft (similar to modano). i tried heatley once but went back to modano because my backhanders are better with modano.
