One90's Problems

Recommended Posts

Ive had a lot of trouble with my one90's so far this year, i have had them for about a year and it isnt looking good. Last week i broke the LS2 power holder so i got LS2's put on both skates. Now the composite bottom is coming off near the heel. Is this fixable, or will the skates have to be replaced.

This is the second post about the One-90's. Someone is complaining about fraying and cracking of the boot. These are the 1st complaints about these skates I have heard. I just bought a pair a few weeks ago. what's going on. Anyone else out there experiencing these problems. I read a bunch of reports about them being very durable with the exception of the TUUK. Me being a 2-3 time a week mens league player i didn't think my skates would see that problem and if they did not a big deal I would replace the TUUK's. Now I am hearing boot problems. Any one else having boot problems.

Not to be the bearer of bad news, FLYRFAN, but I too have had repeated issues with the pair of one90s i purchased.

I first got a pair of retail stock ones through NBH, and within the first 2 weeks of having them the LS2P holder cracked severely. I stuck it out with these, figuring any real breakage could be fixed by a holder replacement. However, within the next month my tendon guard cracked from a slash. I also experienced a good deal of lacebite within this time. I sent those back to NBH, and in an attempt to remedy these problems I ordered up some custom one90s.

On the customs I changed the tongues over to the thick felt supreme tongues, got regular LS2 holders and had a stiff/solid tendon guard installed. Things were going great for about 60 days, then I went in to change my laces and come to find out, my TONGUE was ripping out. The toecap had broken and there was about 3/4" of plastic left holding my tongue onto my skate.

I have now sent my skates into NBH a second time, this time for a repair, and despite the reassurance that my skates would be turned around quickly (as I am on the ice quite often), they are still somewhere up in NH or possibly at THR over the border. It has been almost a month since I sent them off.

I will say that my NBH rep has been great, however the people at headquarters could really have cared less to hear from me when I told them what was going on.

Sorry for the rant, but you struck a raw nerve by relating your troubles as well. I wish you the best of luck!

There's been quite a few threads posted about one90 issues. The tendon guard is probably the biggest culprit besides the holders.

I too have heard lots of stories regarding problems with these skates. I have had these skates since January and so far there haven't been any problems whatsoever regarding outsole seperation and tendon guards snapping off.

WOW, I thought I was buying a great pair of skates but, I am now wondering what lies ahead. I am, as I said a mens league player and I don't see the wear and tear that most of you probally do. Not making an excuse for the skates because they are a expensive skate. I have read reviews about these skates and not heard what I am hearing now. Curious what level do most of you play. Again I am not making excuses for NBH. They should hold up what what they are priced at. Lastly does anyone know what the warrenty is on these skates. Thanks I appreciate the feedback.

Got these July 25, 2007. We are Oct. 31. (slow candy night so here I am)

I love the boot from a performance point of view.

My holders had stress fractures and one runner cracked.

I got Pitch holders installed and love them.(neutral setting) Don't miss the longer runners at all.

Yesterday I noticed one of the outsoles was getting unglued at the heel.

I almost forgot to mention the stitching is coming off rather easily and I've worn out parts of the clarino lining from the rubbing that occurs against my ankles.

Its a 90 day warranty on manuf. defects. It is a shame, i hope they get it all sorted out by the time the one95 rolls around

yeah i find the 90 days to be pretty quick. my problems came 2 weeks after the 90 day period was up. stupid me, i thought the warranty was longer and took my time to go back to the shop and they told me sorry can't help you. if it's under warranty, they would've just taken some new ones from their stock and sent the old ones off the NH.

Boots have carried a 90 day warranty for a long, long time. This 90 day warranty is not something just recently enacted. All the vendors go with it.

a friend of mine had the problem with the outsole coming unglued, unfortunately u will have to get new ones by the sound of it because the sole becomes detached from the boot and the holder moves side to side which is obviously very dangerous. when he was going about sorting the problem out he got told there had been quite a few cases of it. maybe it was a certain batch of them, any1 know? needless to say he decided to trade them off and avoid the risk of it happening again.

For the people that had the boot problems. Is there any fix for these problems. I know for fraying and cracked boots there isn't but, the glue coming apart at the boot and heel or sole. Is there a fix for that.

I had a problem with mine I guess from going into the corners/boards, where the outside of the skate was worn/frayed through to my foot. I took them back to my LHS and they called NBH who couldn't have been more helpful even though it was well after the warranty time on the boot. The new pair has been going strong for a while now. Never had a problem with the holders and I take a lot of pucks off them.

Well its looks like im probably going to replace my one90's with S11's, i dont want to shell out 800 for S15s. I also dont have time right now to send the skates back to bauer and see what they can do.
