Heel Lifts in toronto were?

Recommended Posts

Hello

I am looking to get heel lifts added to my 8090 and the half dozen stores I have call have no idea what i am talking about. Could any one give me a store location and possible a contact name to get this done?

Thank you

Sheesh, that shouldn't be that hard. Jeff (OldTrainerGuy) at National Sports did MissD's. Any of their pro shops should be able to handle it. If it is close to you, try Craig at National's Scarborough store. He's good... I might not have to stalk OTG all around Ontario this year...lol

Hey HockeyMom

You would think it would be easy but i went into the local hockey experts store and asked about heel lifts and they just shrugged so i asked about the national sports and one of the guys in the tech department said he just came over from there and he didn't know what they were either, so I though I would give the board a try.

p.s. i know Jeff works at national but in his reply to one of your threads he said he usually in Scarbrough 1 day on the weekend. i would hate to go when he wasn't in.

I'm having the same problem in the Chicago area.

I came up with my own solution, make my own lifts then just take the skates in to have the rivets removed, and replaced.

I got some .080" Lexan from the hardware store(Lowes), took some metal wire and wraped it around the base of the right holder, then took that rigid form and traced it on paper. Then I cut out the paper and sandwiched it between 4 pieces of lexan big enough for the holder size, || trace ||. Took it to a wheel sander to the shape and size I needed, which then melted the edges of all 4 together, just take something and pry them apart in the middle leaving 2 lifts at .016" to get a forward pitch on my One90s(which I think I may just split the 2 pieces together and use .08 or 2mm), which you can just add or subtract for where you want your skates. And as I said, I based this off the right, so just flip the other and it should be good for the left, I made sure to mark the top on both of so they'd fit right. Then I measured where the runner bolt hole needed to be and drilled slowly.

If you follow that, just take them in to your shop, have them remove the rivets, slide them in, drill the rivet holes into the lifts, re-rivet and they should be good.

You couldn't have tried very hard. I know for a fact you can get this done at Majer Hockey, Just Hockey (both locations), Original Styx and I would hazard to guess another dozen or so places in the GTA

Sorry for the delay and I did write you back.

As for the Scarborough store Craig Forsythe formally of The Hockey Shoppe on Elsmere a very well known and respected sharpener is the head Pro Shop tech at Scarborough and would easily be able to assist you as I do travel so much in between stores.

As for the comment about meeting the person at Concord than you very much.

Any other comments or questions please don't hesitate. I may change my e-mail for faster responses. Just been very very hectic.

Please come and try our new Combo Profiles. They are the same as the Max Edge 9-10 and 9.5-10.5 only available at National for the time being or at a Max Edge Dealer such as Just Hockey.

The benefit is that you can go in a corner hard but when you come out you are much more stable.

About 80% of all National Stores have these bars now!

Look forward to any comments!

First I took 2 pieces of wire and shaped them to the outside of holder.

I then traced the inside of the wire on top of paper and cut it out as perfect as I could. It doesn't look lined up here, but it is and they turned out really good.

After shaping the plastic on a sander this is what I was left with, I then drilled the hole for the runner and decided to leave the rest of the holes to be drilled at the shop.
