Mission 100Ags, boots are a tad short and would like a little more room in the toe area, anything I can do or have done?

Also a question....

When you stretch a boot for length, do you gain the length from just compressing more of the foam, or do you actually stretch the boot material?

most LHS put the skate needed stretching in the bake oven before they do the stretch. I would just be careful because if you do not trust the person that is doing it, the integrity of the skate could be compromised. And the last thing you would want is the stitching to come out!

Well I kinda trust these guys but i'd rather ship em off to JR or something. I'm really new to this concept, does the skate look weird or distorted after they are done, any pics of skates that have been stretched.

I went to the LHS and the guy said im a 5-5.5 skate but he suggested buying a 5.5 He said that I am also definately not a wide foot and I am probably just not used to wearing a properly fitted skate. However, I currently have an old skate which is a size five and the toe cap puts pressure on my small toe. This is an old vapor 3 skate. When i feel inside the skate i can feel an weird edge when the boot meets the toecap. Is this normal?

Hmmm, 2 pages concerning a 6" piece of tape on Jagrs stick, lol, but no more answers on here.

You already got good info, no need to repeat the same things over and over again.

Two LHS's that I called said they can't stretch a boot for length. This includes the LHS I bought from, who did an about face from when I was fitting these skates to buy them.

Can anybody lend a hand, or offer some suggestions?

Thanks.

EDIT: Make that 3 LHS's. They all say everything is too rigid to stretch, especially the plastic toe cap. Am I missing something?

What kind of skates, because I always heard that the composite boots can't be stretched, but the rest can be. My LHS said they could stretch my missions but wanted me to try thin socks or try barefoot.

Ok played drop in with them tonight, and my problem is in the very corner of the boot where my big toe goes, because the boot starts to narrow right there, anything i can do about this, heat?

A pair of thin sanitary socks will make a big difference.

Players bench, which is why i'm so reluctant. Played with some really thin dress socks which help alot, i just need to get a little more room where the leftfront of my big toes hit the boots.

I skate with thin poly liner socks - as thin as it gets before going barefoot.

Can I send the skate to one of you store guys and pay you for the stretch? Or is it something that requires me to be there for the fitting? I was under the impression that it takes a few hours or overnight to hold the boot in the stretched state anyway.

Doesn't really require you for the fitting. Just point out the pressure spots, we'll mark it with tape, and stretch/punch for you. We tend to keep it overnight, sometimes two days depending on how many spots the customer wants. That, and some people are just lazy when it comes to picking up their skates.
