applefish 0 Report post Posted November 15, 2007 Can somebody give me a definitative answer on how the 08 missions fit?I am seeing that they are true to shoe size, I am seeing that they fit 1.5 smaller than you're shoe. I am seeing that a guy with size 13 shoe wears a 10.5.Hi, First post on this great board, hope it'll help you.My last skates were old Bauer 30-70, size 8 (9.5 US shoes, 43 EU). Perfect fit.I got a pair of Soldiers from IW, size 8 too, I wasn't sure they would fit, according to IW's size chart. But they DO fit.So i guess that for all the new Missions, the skates don't fit true to shoe size. My Soldiers are a size 10 and I wear a shoe size of atleast an 11 and sometimes larger depending on the cut. My Soldiers even seem to have some room in them, but Im doubting I could have worn a 9, considering they only come in full sizes. Now If only these ankle bites will heal
Justin 1933 134 Report post Posted November 15, 2007 Search for how Mission skates fit...I have addressed it numerous posts....
ExitTwoEighty 7 Report post Posted November 16, 2007 Is there production problems w/ the new assassin skates? seems like inlinewarehouse keeps pushing the date back and totalhockey.net had no clue when they will receive it when I emailed them. The assassins are the cheapest skates in half sizes that fit me.
ScottMan 0 Report post Posted November 16, 2007 ^^^It does seem like the new Mission skates are in low supply everywhere. I could only find a 9 in the Boss locally so I bit the bullet and ordered them from Inline Warehouse. I wear a 9.5 in Bauer Supreme, 9 in Nike Quest 1, and in the new Syndicate line the 9 was too small and 10 was too big. Hope that helps a little.
Krog7d7 0 Report post Posted November 16, 2007 Just FYI...Few of the guys at my rink are also complaining about the "hurt" ankles and stiffness problem similar to the Wicked line.
D-MaN88 0 Report post Posted November 16, 2007 I know nothing about the new line but since the hurt ankles topic has be revived, I have to admit, I'm skating a pair of Wicked 1s currently and they are the most comfortable skate I have skated in years.I guess I just got lucky. I have a pair of nearly brand new He950s coming in the mail in the next week-or-two and if I like them I might pick up a pair of the Boss's as well. For those getting the new Mission line, let us all know how they are performing and feeling not only as new skates but compared to those of you that used the He line-Wicked line, etc. I'm interested in how each line compares and how each is different over the years. k13 0 Report post Posted December 10, 2008 sorry to revive an old topic, but I tried these on in the store the other day, and I felt that the tounge was way too soft? Every time I took a stride, I could feel the laces pushing up against the lower part of my shin/upper ankle, and it really hurt. Did I lace them up wrong or something? start_today 770 Report post Posted December 10, 2008 In some other threads, one of the mission reps recomended not lacing the top eyelet if you're getting pain. I don't know what thread it's in, but when I found it I was searching for mission assassin or mission lieutenant. Also, the syndicate line is designed to fit best when baked. I'm breaking some in right now, my food moved back a decent amount during the baking. That would take some of the pressure off of your shin/ankle.
k13 0 Report post Posted December 10, 2008 If I did not lace the top eyelet, wouldn't the skate be too lose? It already seems that the top eyelet on the Soldiers is a bit lower than the top eyelet on my RBK's. The boot on the soldiers is otherwise perfect for me. Just wondering if anyone else had this problem, before I purchase these skates.
jpeaslee 30 Report post Posted December 10, 2008 I tried on my new Boss's the other day (don't actually GET them till Christmas) and I felt the same pain you were talking about, while just walk/skating around my room. I loosened up the top eyelet a little and that seemed to fix the problem. One other thing to maybe try to just keep the top eyelet loose but not the others would be the outside in lacing on the top two eyelets.

Just wondering if anyone else had this problem, before I purchase these skates. It might make it feel a bit more loose around the ankle, but that isn't always a bad thing for everyone. Personally in my RBK 6k's I don't lace up the top 2 eyelets (started with just 1 then moved to 2 to help stop the boot from creasing ) for me it works quite well, I tighten my skate a fair bit along my forefoot which means my foot isn't slipping round and the lower lacing gives me more ankle movement which for me is desirable. Play around with the lacing a bit and find what's comfortable for you, the syndicate line is a lower cut boot already, but if it's comfortable to you if you don't lace to the top, go for it, if you end up having problems try lacing them to the top again.
