Any feedback on Shins Easton Syn700's or One90's

Recommended Posts

Looking for some feedback on either the Easton Synergy 700's or the Nike Bauer Supreme One90's. One of the areas I look for in a shin is the strapping system. I hate tapping shin's so the better the fastening system the more I like the product. I currently use Mission 85's. I tried both of them on and they fit well! Thank you

I have the one90 and i love them. The strapping is great i only use tape at the botom (near the ankle area) because i put the shin over the tongue of the skate. It never move and i have taken hard shot and i felt noting.

You wont be disapointed if you buy the one90.

I have synergy 500s I think and I have taken hard slappers and felt nothing, the bubble type plastic they have is really good, although I have seen some players have it crack.

How are the one90's knee protection wise? I have 2 pinched nerves in my knee that keep getting agitated, i was going to go to the LHS and fall on the knee with different pads on, but I dont know if that is a very wise thing to do.

Personally I've taken several slappers to the knees, and I have a lot of knee problems. You know you got hit, but it dampens the blow so well you don't get hurt at all.

I went ahead and bought 'em. The only thing that bothers me with them on is the memory foam, but i figure that will go away. I didnt get the eastons because i had a pair in the past and they fell apart super fast. Little different coming from my 18" jolly green giant jofas, but i think they will work out just fine.

I bought the Syn700's and one cracked on me a few weeks later. I had never heard of shin pads cracking so I assumed it was caused by someone stepping on it while in my bag. A couple months later a shot hit the other pad and it cracked. Then a slapshot hit the pad with the first crack and the whole plastic shell shattered. FYI, I play rec hockey.

In my experience, the plastic Easton uses for this model is too brittle. They say it isn't. Buyer beware.
