Painting T-Blade Holders

Recommended Posts

I'm looking to paint my T-Blade holders a nice black...matte or glossy finish would be fine.

Anyone have an idea of what type of paint/marker i could use? I'm almost positive they're made of glass fibre resin if that helps.

thanks guys

why not just scuff as much of the surface you can with a scotch-brite pad or a high grit sandpaper, then if you REALLY want to, you could use a spray-primer, and then paint it...thats if your really thorough. i know thats what i would do if i had to do mine, but im not sure it would hold up well to pucks etc etc, it might chip pretty easily. Most people on their tuuk's etc. use RIT dye if you search.

Can you use this dye on cobra holders also? This sounds like an interesting weekend project.

You can typically use it on just about any plastic product, and can be picked up at most arts and crafts/hobby stores.

Thanks! I'm going to try this out over turkey break.

steel yes, you dont have to take the holders off but you'd want to mask off the bottom of the skate boot with tape. Preferably, you'd want to take the holders off though.

I like it. I assume you pulled the holders off and dyed them?

Yes. Took the holders off, took the steel off, put them in a aluminum foil lasagna pan. Heated the water, dye mixture. Poured it in. Viola, black blade holders!

Only 1 problem. I did this in my washroom sink. . . . some of the dye overflowed (which I expected) and I didn't rinse it out real quick. . . so part of the sink is black now.

Not a major problem though since its the utility sink and its already been stained by a million different things.

Did my cobra's yesterday.

I think they turned out pretty good. I didn't expect it to be so easy.
