RBK 9k pants

Recommended Posts

I'm 5'7 145 lb and about a 30-32 inch waist. Can someone please tell me what size I would need? I'm thinking small or x-small. I cant find a sizing shart anywhere. all the pant charts are pretty generic and almost no stores have these to try one

Also, the reviews on these pants seem to be pretty mixed from what I've read here. Rbk says it has great mobility, but others say the opposite. and some complain about the weight. Is it really worth getting these pants?

These pants offers pro level protection. If that's what you need/want, I'm sure you could handle the weight/bulkyness...

If not, maby you would benefit from going one or two steps down from the top of the line level..

Protection opposite mobility...

As for the sizing, I would recomend trying them on before you decide. Some like them a little big and others dont. As allways, this is a question of personal preference as well. There's nothing like trying them on i.m.o

Just my 2 cents.

Thanks for the advice.

Considering I've worn the same pants since I was 12. I guess I got them really big. (I'm 19 now, I don't know how I did it , a lot of the padding has fallen off and I've survived) I think I stuck with it because I really liked the mobility (the only hard plastic padding are on the thighs, the rest is gone and even when I got hit on the hard plastic, it hurt) so I guess for me mobility>protection, but I wouldn't mind having some protection for a change.

Can you please reccomend a top of the line pant that leans more towards mobility than protection? how about the one 90 pants?

I have the NBH one90 pants. They are great. I believe the perfect balance between protection & mobility. I'm VERY PICKY about which breezers I wear. I've tried on ALL of them.

Highly recommend the One90s or Easton S9s. Good protection, but great mobility.

I've skated in the One90s for (7) months now and they are holding up great. The only issue I have (for most of Nike pants) is the waist/belt design. I am now NOT A FAN of the middle lower abdominal pad. The damn thing ends up folding forward, protecting nothing (getting in the way). Nike would have the perfect pant if they made the waist system similar to the: 6ks, 5ks, Eastons etc..... a 2-belt system with the waist protector coming more around the front. I'm just going to take some scissors and cut the front pad off (painful to do on a $140 pair of pants).

Hope this helps??

Good luck.

I tried on almost ever current pant and the supremes were hands down the most mobile. My one90s are amazing, extrememly mobile and very protective. My first icetime I did my full stretch that I haven't done since I was in net because I could actually do it, my stretch includes two splits and a strattle... The pants were more than up for the task.

I dont think you'll regret that purchase. I've never been soo happy with one single piece of equipment before. These are almost perfect, I couldn't ask for much better.

Did you also try on the XXX-lite pants? I recall reading they're very similar to the One90s, but a little more tapered at the legs and they don't have the zipper? If you tried them on was that your experience? I suppose I could just go try them both on myself, but I don't really need new pants right now and don't want to waste any sales people's time. I'm just curious as I have seen the XXX-lite pants in the stores and they do look nice and mobile.

I looked at them when they came out but I didn't really consider them because they dont have zippers.

Go and check them out, be honest and let them know that that you aren't buying that day and if it's not busy they might be willing to still help you out... Just dont use them as a fitting room. There's no problem being a smart shopper. I say this as a saleman that works on only commission, where if you waste my time you're actually costing me money... It's not a waste of time if you come back and buy from me. :)
