Are the Red Wings Ridiculously Good Every Year?

Recommended Posts

With the redwings success this season so far, does anyone think that osgood should be voted into the all-star game? He's been one of the biggest reasons for there success and he has some of the best numbers in the league.

I am a die hard Redwings fan, but as much as I like Osgood I don't think alot of the Wing success is from thier goaltending. The Wings allow only 15-20 shots on them a game. I think it is the way they prevent shots from good angles, transition, move the puck, maintain puck possesion and out shoot most teams 2-1. Thier good goaltending is just icing on the cake.

Chris Draper....aquired from the winnipeg jets for.....$1 can't forget him

last season they made it the WCF, i'd say thats a pretty good showing.

06, lost to edmonton who made it to the cup final.

04, lost to calgary who made it to the cup final.

its not like they lost to crappy teams. they have just had the misfortune of meeting up with hot teams in the first round the last few years and got beat before they could get any momentum going.

New Jersey is an injury or two from dropping off a cliff.

They've only recently had this little depth the last couple of years, but any team is actually an injury or two from dropping off a cliff.

There are plenty of teams that survive a couple of key injuries, witness: Boston.

They were in first place both those years. They were supposed to have momentum going already.

Boston uses the "addition by subtraction" thing. They found a good goalie after having one injured and lucked out.

I was thinking more about Bergeron and the fact that they have constantly had 1 of the top 4 defensemen out.

Auld is riding the new team high. He'll come back down to earth.
