7k skates

Recommended Posts

can anyone give me some input on these skates? does the pump do anything or is it just a gimmick? are there new 7ks coming out soon that I should wait for?

I currently have supreme 6000s and need to upgrade due to size. I have a wide foot, I am also looking at vapor xxv's

I've owned 7K's... great skate, nice stiff skate. Most of the features of the 9K. The Pump works, it just provides a more "customizable" fit as opposed to bulky ankle packs.

As far as new 7K's, I've read rumors of the new 7K being available in white. Other than that, from what I've gathered- the new 7K won't but too much of a drastic improvement from the current model.... I think I heard new-er tongues too.

how is the durability?

will i have any problems coming from a lightspeed holder?

It won't be that bad, it's the guys going from a THC skate to a NBH skate that topple backwards on the first couple turns. It will take some time to get used to it, the RBK boot will put you a bit more on your toes and the e-pro will be less stiff than a LS holder. Even if you put the LS holder on the boot you will need to shim or profile to get the same lean on the skates...

Also the LS has a radius of 9' while the E-Pro is 10'

I've been in the 7K's now for about 6 months with zero durability issues. I spend about 12 hours a week on the ice between game play, coaching and reffing....and the boots only show minor scuffs. Nothing out of the ordinary.

No reason to post the same questions in 4 different threads. Be patient...your questions will be answered.

The pump...just fine on mine, no problems or ill effects.

Regular width G5's? If you haver a narrow foot maybe only the Vapors would be a good choice. It really depends on how narrow your foot is. Really should go try on skates and see, All have subtle ( or not) differences in fit.

Will the 5,7,9 k's fit pretty much the same? I tried the 9k's in a wide and it was still too tight on my feet. I have super wide feet. Will Vector 10's in wide fit better?
