Itech W/ Neckguard

Hmm i did a search but didnt really know how to phrase it so i am wondering if anyone has used the itech shirt thats like underarmour with the neck guard thing and is it actually like a neck guard like will i still have to wear a neckguard over that little 100% kevlar piece if i got it like is it a certified neck guard for leagues like O.M.H.A? any input much appriciated!

the only concern i have with that shirt is the zipper. id hate to egt hit just right and have that thing digging into my back

I wear one and have never had that problem and most of my teammates have them and i havent heard one complain about that so im sure it is a high chance that wont happen

i ave a teammate with one too... that being said he doesnt play a whole lot so he doesnt really count ;)

it looks to be like the underarmour fabric any input on how well it keeps you cool? and how thin and comfotable the neckguard is on it?

I use one for my leauge games. Theres no way I can wear a regular neck guard but this is very comfortable, I hardly notice it is there.

sort of related, i think i've seen neckguards that are like this itech thing only without the whole shirt. Is that something i can buy? because i don't like to wear stuff under my equipment but i hate my neckguard

from shopping around i havent seen something like that. What i did was got a neck guard and cut a small hole and pulled out the foam inside making it alot closer to one of the neck guards that are on the itech. Obviously it is not aloud but ive benn doing it for the last 4 years and no one has noticed yet.

I have one and compared to my old UA shirt and NBH one:

Moisture wicking properties are on par. The fabric itself is a little thicker than the others but seems as a good thing since it feels very durable and not even close to tearing or ripping (yet).

In terms of the neck guard, I was in the "I could never wear another neck guard again" camp after minor hockey. But i tried this and I don't think I'll move to another shirt. The neck guard is very comfortable and barely noticeable while playing. As for the zipper, it does not dig into your neck.

The ONLY problem I have with this combo is the price. But at the same price as UA cold gear it's much more worth the price. Hope this helps.
