Easton S15 or One90?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

Time to move on from my Z Air Comp SEs...

I was wearing a 7EE in those skates, and tried on both the S15 and the One90 in 7EE and found they both fit well - or so I thought. Now with some research around here, it seems the One90s fit 1/2 size smaller? So I should be a 6.5EE? And with the S15s, should I be trying on the Rs too, as they apparently run wider?

With the sizing and fit out of the way - which is the better skate? They are roughly the same price...

Thanks!

It sounds like we have similar shaped feet.

if your feet fit the comp se's, then moving to the s15's will be absolutely perfect. i moved from the comp se's to synergy 1500's, then s15's the 1500's and the s15s have almost identicle fit and the comfort was unreal and there were no sore spots.

i tried out a pair of one90's in a EE and they felt fine until i got to skating and the amount of pressure points i got around my ankle and heel made it unbearable to skate after 30 minutes and the damage done to my feet took ages to recover (just off 30 mins). However if they didnt hurt i loved the stiffness although the weight is noticable imo.

In summary if they both fit you fine, it depends what u are looking for in a skate. The one90 look to be a bit more durable and are definately stiffer, but the s15's are so light and responsive.

I'm in the same position.

And nom I think I'm gonna go for the easton.

The more I see nb 190 the more I'm dissapointed, they look very cheap and not durable at all.

The S15 feel way more serious and way more well made.

And talking about the look, the s15 are handsome (full texalium apparent)!!

Something weird I wear 9.5 street shoe and my best fit in the S15 is in 9.5R

i had a R in the s15's, my feet widths in skate have been:

EE z-air comp SE

R Synergy 1500

R Stealth S15

EE Bauer Supreme 8000

EE Vapor XXXX (altho they feel a little too wide now i have broken them in a bit so im on thick socks now)

And the one90's were a snug fit in EE when i tried them

i would say aim to get ur feet in the R as they will probably be a nice snug fit, but if they are too narrow move up depends how u like ur skates to fit

If you go for the Eastons, please post a picture in about 6 months of how they look. S15s in 6 months will look nothing like they do when they are new. Every pair we get in the shop to sharpen after a month or two of game wear is half shredded. Of course, these are from players that skates 3-4 times a week.

I was interested in this skate until I did some searching which confirmed what you are saying. These skates just aren't lasting! No thanks!
