Time for new Gloves?

Recommended Posts

Hey.

Right now Im using some Easton Synergy 500 gloves that i picked up just cause I needed a pair. Only been using them for about two months and the palm is already beginning to tear. Any gloves out there that you all would recommend that should last me a while. How are those Louisville TPS X-Lites? My local shop has a pair for $70 and they feel pretty good. How is that rubbery palm they have in it? Any helps appreciated. Thanks.

Heres some pictures to show the wear of the glove and wear the hole is forming.

i'd wait until they actually tear unless you just want new gloves. i thought i'd have holes in my xxx nash palm in a month or two based on the wear i saw after only a week. its now been over a year that i've had them and i only have a small whole about half the size of a dime in my top hand. i skate 3-5 times a week.

It seems to me that your gloves are fine. I would keep using them as my pair of Eastons (04 Airs) did that after a couple months and now only have a few holes in the palm. I would not worry about it unless you just want a new pair of gloves.

This happened to my S11's in about a month and a half. i air my kit regularly so it wasnt thru rotting. only happened on my top hand and i reckon its because the palm started with those little ventialtion holes which just grew and merged and spread.

tbh it doesnt really affect me like i thought it would, i maybe actually feel a slight benefit in feel.

stick another piece of tape or glue some thin leather to it. I did that with my gloves 18months ago, and it hasnt gotten any worse. Not much difference in the feel either.

No I dont think you should, i have an old pair of ccm actually worse than your's and I keep playing with them. Like some people said before, add a leather patch or something and you'll be just fine...

But new gloves...looks cooler

Oh and...first post. Sorry if my english is bad, I'm from Quebec Canada. French etc...

your english is good. definitely much better than my french...

but to the 'OP', you can still get lots of use out of those for sure. over the last 4 years, my longest lasting gloves' palm was probably on a pair of mission M-1's...

Yea. I know I can still get some time out of these. Just wasnt sure how long they would last since theyre my first actual decent pair of gloves. First gloves were used and free, but the leather was completely dried out and ripped to pieces fairly quickly. Guess Ill stick with these unless I find some new gloves that I just really like. Think I mighta gotten the Eastons a size or two small anyways. Thanks.

im debating wether or not to get new gloves. and yes, these ARE the gloves that i use in games, the other one is completely fine, no holes.

oh, and this glove has already been repalmed. that's what the dark leather is.

click on it to make it bigger.

Wow juiced, pretty messed up. Since you can't repair them again I'd go buy a new pair of gloves....or just tape a metal plate on the back of your hand it will almost be the same feeling :P
