Hockey Vending Machine

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone I searched but to no avail,

My boss along with owning the LHS works at the local rink and is looking to put a vending machine in the rink. I was just wondering if anyone has seen these, heard of these and can offer any help in my search because lucky me I was put in charge of finding any information on these.

Thanks.

They have them at a rink in Syosset, NY. The name of the rink is Iceworx. (It's the practice facility for the NY Islanders.)

Next time I'm there I'll see if there's any info on the machine.

it's the same as a candy vending machine. You can lease/buy a candy machine and fill it with whatever you want. You would be responsible for filling it up with stuff, putting the change money in and emptying the coffer. Try contacting a local vending machine company.

That's what I thought I just figured I'd ask around and see if anyone knew, Thanks again to everyone for your help.

A bike shop near me has something similar outside its main door, but with inner tubes, energy gel, and other small type things that you might want to pick up even though the store is closed. They have everything in a plastic packet too. Maybe it's the same machine you're looking for, but with a different advertising panel.

Yeah it's just a thought right now for him, I like the idea it'd be a good way to make a couple bucks he could put the stores name on the machine to help advertising too I guess, I'll make sure to pass all this information on to him.

I used to play at a rink where the sharpener was a vending machine. Talk about scary....

:P Yeah they used to have those outside the Queens rink in Kingston...pretty wild

I've used two automated sharpening machines (one in a shop and one in a vending machine). The one in the shop took a long time, because he could program in different hollows and rockers, but it did an excellent job. The one in the vending machine produced good results as well. I never paid attention, but I could see it possibly taking off too much metal. However, it was obvious the machine ran a consistent path.

Around here they just use regular candy vending machines. You don't really need a special hockey one or anything. Everything from socks, laces, pucks, mouthguards, tape, wax will fit in there. Pretty handy in an emergency.

Saw one recently at the Lynwood rink in Seattle. Tape, mouthguards, wax, even little kiddie gloves.

were you there for the AAA tournament?

Yeah at the rink there is always someone running around in a panic for tape or something, he usually just carries a bag and puts signs up saying something like "Tape available in office" I guess he's just looking to save himself the trouble of dealing with people I don't know

Yeah, my kid plays on the gulls

My kid is on the Outlaws, They didn't play up to thier usual level, #2 & #3 players hurt, no games in 5 weeks. All in all it was a fun tournament for them.
