NBH Supreme Pro Lightspeed Shin Pads

Recommended Posts

I haven't used them but we have them at work and they are a nice beefy pad. A little wide for my liking. About the same width as RBK's high end stuff. They have a nice calf protector as well. The lightspeeds are definitely a high end/highly protective shin.

The inside of the pads are roomier than the 9k, but the outside is not as wide. It's not tremendously thinner though. I prefer the LS much more than the One90s. The padding feels softer and the calf wrap is much better. The One90 calf wrap is too short for me and I'm not a beefy dude. They are lighter than the 9ks and run a little shorter.

I'll try and track down somebody who uses them today.

Unless they flat out don't fit you, there is no reason to not buy a rbk/jofa sg imo. I had those old adjustable vapor 10 sg and the cap split in two from minor contact. I'd never trust bauer again for sg, personally

Aren't the One90s based off the old Nike V series? I have used them all. I actually like the One90. The outer plastic shell has been a lot better at impact absorption than the old Nike V series. I had the V-14 and the V-12. I loved the way they felt, but a direct shot in the shins would usually leave a permanent bone bruise.

I don't care for the RBK brand in general. With that said I've tried Jofa but went back to Bauer and have been extremely happy.

I have a knee brace and the Rbks squeeze my knee a little bit. The plastic seems thicker on the 9ks thought, I agree. I like that the LS are light (hence the name, I suppose).

The Easton S9s looked good as well, but I don't know anyone who has had them for a while.

I use the S-9's and I love them. Their a slimmer, deeper fit than my RBK 8K's and so far have proved extremely protective. I've taken a few good hard shots off them and no break down or cracks. I've tried Nike/Bauer pads but I don't like the feel of them at the top of the knee area and I can't comment on their durability because I didn't have them long enough. The Easton S-9's work well for me.

Yeah, I had a real scary experience with a pair of easton sg with the polycarbonate plating. I don't tend to give anyone a second chance if they spook me when it comes to my knees, just my policy.
