Almost inspired me to quit my job and rough it in Tasmania, then I realised no food and no hockey.PS: Does anyone know the real name of his trailer park wench? mack 44 Report post Posted January 9, 2008 I echo most people who've lived up here's opinion of Christopher McCandless when I say he was an idiot. I'm sure some of the filming aspects of the movie warrant being called good but the story itself just irks me. Not sure if it was arrogance or just naivety but he didn't have the training, experience or even the right equipment to even try to do what he did up here. His body is supposedly found 2 weeks later by Moose hunters.Apparently the writer initially claimed he died from eating a poisonous seed, but that was proven to be %100 wrong through testing done on the body...so in later versions of the book it is suggested that a fungus grew on the seeds that and that this fungus led to his death, but there is no real forensic evidence to suppport this theory. I read the book, thought it was pretty good...never got around to seeing the movie mainly because whenever I see a movie after I've already read the book I usually think the movie sucks.
