Shiping in Canada

Recommended Posts

Is it a general thing that US hockey equipment stores on the internet are unable to ship Easton, Nike Bauer, CCM, and Reebok outside the US due to manufacturer restrictions ?

It's very bad because there is a free trade agrement betwen both contries and now that the Canadian $ is at par with americans $ the price in the US is sometime as much as 50% lower.

Those Manufacturer instead of lowering their price in Canada just cash in on customers.

yes youll hear from JR and Chad and other members who work at LHS's that it is a rule that NBH,RBK/CCM and Easton has enfored and they have gotten stricter about it even though it stills happens, aswell I talked with a lady at customer service at NBH about what happens if someone buys something online from the states like skates or sticks that they wont be covered under warranty at all due to the cross border policy.

I'm all for supporting my LHS because I'm there maybe 2-3 times a week for small stuff and I buy sticks there but I completely understand, being from Canada, wanting to buy your skates and whatever else online because it's too expensive here. Take for example my RBK 9K skates that i bought on Ebay. I paid them 350$ a while ago but they're still 700$ here...I'd love to buy them at my LHS but for 350$ more?? And plus, I still pay to get them sharpened and whatever else so it's not like they're doing me a huge favor if i spend twice as much as i would online. It really sucks though because I force myself to buy stuff here...like my warrior dolomite grip that i bought 2 weeks ago...I could have easily paid half online but decided to bite the bullet and get it here instead. It's a tough situation man!

I know exactly what you're talking about. For example, a Sr. Vapor XXXX OPS is $269.99 in Canada and $189.99 in the U.S. After taxes, $100 more for a stick??? I guess I just won't be buying one.

It wasn't that long ago that Americans were flocking over the border to buy Canadian gear because it was so much cheaper. It all goes in cycles.

Since we've already had a ton of these topics lately, this is getting closed.
