tps r8 lite one peice sticks..

Recommended Posts

i have a pair of tps r8 response sticks with a nash curve. i find the curve to be a bit too much for me so i want to str8en it out to keep my wristers and slappers low. i love the feel of this stick its a whip flex btw.. but i think its time i did something about the curve. i know with old wooden sticks you can heat up the blade and adjust it however u want but can i do this with a nearly 300 dollar stick ?

You heat the holy hell out of it and it'll be as pliable as you want it. Now excuse me, I just 8 some leftover garlic chicken and have to go floss.

2 things.

First off....use the search function at all times before you create a new thread. By not doing this you will simply annoy everyone on here, and either get no replies, or nothing valid.

Before you go and destroy a R8....DO NOT apply heat to that blade. You want a shallower curve, try the Tkachuk.

As mentioned above - do not apply heat to the blade! Your next shot will crack the blade to shit. There is really nothing you can do to straighten it out, unless you cut it down and buy a Tkachuk tapered blade.

And, not trying to out-mod the mods here, but the reason Mack was sarcastic in his post was because you used "8" instead of "aight". The mods are pretty strict about this, because we do have members around from other countries who have difficulty with English. It's just a courtesy thing.

As others have mentioned, don't heat the blade, dude. You'll just ruin it.

Also as srv2miker said, try using full and proper English, not just for other members but because this is not a text message - you have a full keyboard in front of you so why not use it? Otherwise you frustrate the foreigners and irritate old farts like myself. However, as I've been warming up for the Patriots game tonight I am a kinder, gentler Ogie...

NOW ON TO THE SERIOUS BUSINESS OF THE QUESTION AT HAND....

As said before, don't heat the blade. A thing of note is that the TPS sticks are conjoined 2-pieces. They use a sort of ceramic paint to fill the joint in where the blade meets the shaft. You can't typically see it when it's new, but is will show itself after a few games of use (you'll see a wave in the paint that will look like a hairline scratch that will become noticeable after time).

Anyway, I'm telling you this because if you REALLY don't like the curve, figure out where that fuse point is, and pull the blade out by heat-n-pull. Then buy the curve you like (tapered) and, heck, sell the Nash/Sakic curve to a buddy to make up some of the difference.

Just a thought. I am debating doing this as well with my R6 as I don't care for the Tkachuk curve.
